Late last year we posted about daily deal site Meh.com offering the fantastic Steelseries Stratus for $45. Well, if you thought that was a great deal, today you can get the same controller for $30- Which sort of feels like the price point these controllers should have been all along. They normally sell for $80, but can be had for $61.66 on Amazon… Or $44.99 for refurbs.
We really liked the Steelseries Stratus in our review when it was first released. The original criticisms are still valid, as the controller still is really tiny and the build quality just didn’t feel like a $80 controller should at the time. At $30 though? That’s the perfect price for one of these. It really makes you wonder what’s going on that the deal sites are constantly selling these things off for so cheap, from an outsider’s perspective it seems Steelseries vastly overestimated the number of people willing to pay $80 for a controller.
But, hey, whatever. If you’ve ever been curious about getting a MFi iOS controller, now is the perfect time. The Stratus is a great device, ultra portable, and finally is being sold for what feels like the “right" price- Too bad it just seems like we’re only hitting that price point when they’re being liquidated by deal sites. If you’re interested in one of these, head over to Meh.com and order it ASAP. Like Woot and other similar sites, you never know how many they have on hand- They could last all day, or be sold out within the hour.
