‘Escape from the Pyramid’ and its Stylish Visuals Flee to the App Store Next Week

Tama Games has announced the release date for their nifty-looking upcoming platformer Escape from the Pyramid. The game is designed to look like it was from Egyptian wall art, through the use of specific colors, flat visuals, and other stylistic flourishes that give it a pretty cool look. This style isn’t completely unique, as Apotheon on PS4 and PC uses a similar flat, wall art style, but this one has the Egyptian influence, and if we get an infestation of ancient wall art games, then maybe we can point out that this was a problem. Until then, I’m gonna enjoy it. Here’s a trailer for the game that shows off some of the stylistic flourishes of the game:

That trailer looks spiffy, but it doesn’t quite show off the actual game in action. Here’s some gameplay footage from an early build of the game, so this isn’t necessarily what the final release version will look like:

While this is an auto-runner, it’s a level-based one, with 45 total levels to play through. This one releases on March 23rd, next Monday.
