Okay, this isn’t strictly iOS-related, but I think we can all agree that one of the best things about the Final Fantasy series is the incredible music each game features. Even the less-popular entries feature some wonderful compositions, and although the series has seen many excellent composers, the bulk of that work belongs to Nobuo Uematsu. As the main composer on the series from Final Fantasy 1 ($7.99) through Final Fantasy 10, along with significant contributions to Final Fantasy 11 and Final Fantasy 14, his music is the sound of JRPGs for countless gamers. A self-taught musician with a wide range of styles in his repertoire, Uematsu has had his music covered by everyone from amateurs to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Well, we can now add the London Symphony Orchestra to that list with the release of Final Symphony, a new album from the same music label behind the excellent Greatest Video Games Music releases.
Final Symphony was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra at the famous Abbey Road Studios in the presence of Nobuo Uematsu. The album includes one substantial piece from Final Fantasy 6 ($14.99), with the remaining ten tracks largely dedicated to Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 10. I’ve had a listen to it, and while I’m no music critic, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Final Symphony is available on iTunes for $9.99, with the best parts only available through the full-album purchase. I’d give it a solid recommendation to any fans of Final Fantasy or classical music in general. While you mull it over, feel free to check out this “Behind The Scenes" video of the album recording. It includes a few choice quotes from Uematsu himself, who looks as happy as a kid on Christmas morning to be recording in the same studio as many of his musical inspirations.

Yeahhh buddy! So glad to see this awesome title get the credit it deserves! Go Foxhole!!! 😃😃 can't wait to see more from them
5 stars! Great review, although the soundtrack includes 7 songs, not 6.
I am obsessed with Blokshot!!
I don't know what to say... I'm genuinely moved by this. Thankyou so much for your support TouchArcade.
You deserve it! This game is the bees knees! 😜
le sigh... I went to go download this and of course App Store downloads is down at the moment...
"Le sigh," really???
Damn! Been holding off purely due to having too many games but just went to pull the trigger when the AppStore won't let. I'll download and purchase as soon as it's back up.
Well deserved 5 stars! This game is too good to be true!
Fak! I really want to try this.. Hopefully the store will be back up and running soon
I tried to play this and found the controls as janky as hell. Couldn't find the appeal in the experience in the least, though after this review, I understand if it has its place.
It's definitely challenging to get your shot to go where you want it to, but once you get the hang of it you can make combos like crazy. I guess it's not for everyone, but it sure hit all the right spots with me! 😃 hope you will give t another try sometime
Playing it on an iPhone is horrendous for one particular point. I have particularly large hands, which means when I tried to play the game, I couldn't for the life of me, figure out where the slingshot was spinning. My fingers or thumb obscured the shot entirely.
You don't have to put your finger directly over the spinner thing. I put my finger either beside or below it so I can see where it is spinning when I'm trying to aim. :)
I couldn't get into into this one either.
I believe that's the first time a video of mine was used in a Touch Arcade article. Please excuse me while I geek out.
Congratulations! Great video. The "round the back" shot you pull off at 03:02 is awesome!
Why is the AppStore down? Is it maintenance or something?
Good morning!
I'm giving this a try again, but the issue of having the slingshot be too small to see past my thumb is still a problem for me. Also, being a LEFTY means that the clockwise turn is obscured by the rest of my finger. If there was a way to switch rotations, that would go a long way to help.
Hi fellow lefty. I was doing the same thing and muttering about the same issue until I realized you can put your finger anywhere on the screen.
The only Appstore feature I can fully understand this week. Nice
