Good news for fans of Nitrome, the publisher of games across many genres with one common thread, their detailed pixel-art style. Their next game is coming out this week, entitled Magic Touch: Wizard for Hire. The game has you controlling a wizard who must cast spells in order to pop the balloons of enemies descending down towards them. You do this by drawing lines on the screen, with some enemies needing basic shapes, but as the game goes on, more complex shapes pop up, and multiple shapes for enemies have to be popped, and so on. The trailer shows off how it all works:
The game is somewhat lenient in how the shapes are drawn, so you have to be close to the shape, but not exact, so being able to react is key here. The game uses a very similar upgrade system as Platform Panic (Free) did, where coins you earn go toward, powerups, and even new backgrounds. The game releases on Wednesday, February 25th.
Update: We made an error with the release date, the game is releasing next week.
