Right Pedal and Attract Mode’s airplane tube racer, Tail Drift (Free), has just been turned into a free-to-play game. The planes now require fuel in order to race, which recharges over time, and can be refilled by spending coins or through watching incentivized video ads. The UI has been streamlined to make it easier to navigate and quicker to access the plane menus. The tour system has been changed to replace the branching paths available initially with a simpler linear system, with some tracks’ difficulties rebalanced.
For those who bought the game earlier and are fretting about the free-to-play drop, the game should give you a large amount of coins after you update. James at Attract Mode shared on our forums to contact him if there’s an issue, say, if you deleted the game and reinstall. He also said that they decided to go free as sales were slow, and with additional content in the works, they decided to retool it to be free now, trying to keep an eye on making the monetization be fair.
