World of Tanks: Blitz (Free) has just gotten its version 1.6 update, bringing in new tanks, a new map, and some other tweaks to the game. The big new addition to the game are the new British tanks. These tanks generally feature low speed, with good armor, high rates of fire, and great elevation angles, which Wargaming claims is especially helpful for mobile players. There’s a whole new tech tree with the tanks, with tiers 1-4 of the tanks being medium tanks, and higher tiers including heavy tanks in the mix. One of these tanks, the Matilda BP, a Tier 5 medium tank, can be had as a premium vehicle bundle with a garage slot, 500 gold, and 3 days of premium account access.
Additionally, a new map designed exclusively for World of Tanks: Blitz has been added, Castilla. This Spanish map features lots of hills and cover to play around with, so it should lead to some interesting battles. A number of other tweaks and improvements, especially for lower-end devices, have been added as well, so hopefully this is playing better than ever for people with older iPhones, iPods, and iPads which work with the game.
