Indian developer Rolocule Games’ latest title is on the way next week, January 15th, and it’s a bit of a spin on bowling, with Bowling Central. The game consists of three modes. There’s a classic mode where you can just play a normal game of bowling in 3, 6, or the standard 10 frames, using swipe controls to launch the ball and curve it. The main mode is a level-based affair, where it’s about getting as high a score as possible given certain challenges, including obstacles placed in the lanes that must be dodged in order to hit the pins. These levels feature a 3-star system, except instead of stars, they’re golden pins.
Rolocule has carved out a bit of a niche for themselves by making games that have AirPlay functionality to play on TV with others, and this is no exception, as it’s possible to beam the game to an Apple TV or other AirPlay receiver and play the game Wii-style with motion controls, which also supports local multiplayer play. I played bowling on Wii Sports recently, it’s still pretty fun. Bowling Central launches January 15th for $2.99. Check out the forum thread for the game.
