Way back in June of last year, Gameloft announced Brothers In Arms 3, the third entry in their WWII shooter series that had been a staple on the iOS platform for years. Brothers In Arms 3 was a pretty dramatic departure from the previous games in the series, as it was designed as an on-rails, third-person cover-based shooter. We were able to go hands-on with an early version of the game at E3 that month, and despite how different it was, it was still a lot of fun. We didn’t really hear much more about Brothers In Arms 3 after that, except that it was supposed to be the consolation prize for Gameloft delaying Modern Combat 5 back in December. However, Brothers In Arms 3 never arrived as promised.
We hadn’t heard much about what happened or what the status was for Brothers In Arms 3 for pretty much all of 2014, but this week Gameloft has finally started talking about the game again. Apparently the massive delay was due to them changing the game from an on-rails experience to one with free movement. I know that’s the sort of thing that will make a lot of people happy, even though I kind of liked the on-rails version just because it was so different. Anyway, today Gameloft released a new trailer showing the new and improved Brothers In Arms 3, check it out.
Gameloft hasn’t confirmed a release date or pricing for Brothers In Arms 3, but it sounds like it might be coming pretty soon, maybe even before the end of the year. They have been dishing out a few details on the official Facebook page for the game, so be sure to check that out too. We’ll bring you any new information as it comes and in the meantime you can find some Brothers In Arms 3 discussion in our forums.
