Just about a month ago, developer F5 Games unveiled their next upcoming game, a multiplayer-focused dual-stick shooter called The Hunted. Dual-stick shooters are common on the App Store, but what really made The Hunted stand out was its use of lighting and shadows to create a moody atmosphere in the game. It wasn’t just a slick visual effect though, as opponents could actually use the shadows as cover from other players. Well if you were stoked for The Hunted then F5 has good news. As they’ve announced in our forums, The Hunted has been submitted to Apple for approval, and they expect to release the game this month. Best of all, their latest blog post on the game is stuffed with new animated .gifs. Woohoo!
There is plenty more information at the blog post linked above, and this specific entry focuses on one of the playable characters in the game, The Hunter. The .gif above shows one of his more unique weapons, a gun that lets you shoot tracking darts into enemies so you can see blips of them even if they aren’t in your line of vision. Very clever. Over the next couple weeks, F5 will be highlighting each of the nine characters in the game similarly to what they’ve done with The Hunter, so definitely keep an eye on their blog and get ready for The Hunted to launch in the App Store once it’s (hopefully) approved later this month.
