GDC 2014: ‘Word Explorer’ from Tower Studios Lets You Practice Your Spelling while Traveling the World

Word games are a perfect fit for mobile, and Tower Studios’ upcoming Word Explorer even seems fit for the jet-setting lifestyle of a mobile gamer. Or, if you’re a more sedentary mobile gamer like me, it can at least simulate the feeling of jetting all over the world. Its extensive list of puzzles are based on locations all over the globe, and you’ll travel all over as you work towards completing them. The game has an uncanny amount of word puzzles to solve as well as real photos of animals and locations from around the world for you to collect. With little factoids associated with each image, you might even learn something by playing. Check out our lengthy look at Word Explorer.

Word Explorer seems to have all the bases covered to cater towards a wide audience of word game fans. There are un-timed easier modes so you can solve puzzles at your own pace, or harder timed modes where you’re under the gun to solve puzzles and earn the highest rewards. It even has randomly generated quick play games and an online versus mode. With a massive amount of words and locations all over the world to visit, Word Explorer should keep you plenty busy when it launches in the next couple of weeks. Additionally, if you’ve got a Canadian App Store account you can check out the soft-launch version right now.
