When Super Stickman Golf 2 ($0.99) launched in March of this year, it expanded on and improved over the original game in just about every way, which is really saying something as the first Super Stickman Golf was sublime. Several months later, in August, a huge version 2.0 update added even more greatness in the form of new characters, new courses, replay sharing and a whole lot more. The team at Noodlecake has been somewhat quiet on the Super Stickman Golf front since then, but this week they’ve unveiled a small portion of what to expect from yet another huge update which is set to go live in January.
The big reveal involves the inclusion of everyone’s favorite sentient blob of meat (sorry Meatwad) with a brand new course based on Team Meat’s Super Meat Boy. As you can see in the teaser video below, the Meat Boy levels feature the same terrifying buzz saws from the hardcore platformer that won’t hesitate to end your life in the blink of an eye. It’s kind of crazy, but being that Super Stickman Golf 2 is more akin to a puzzle platformer than an actual game of golf, the Meat Boy levels make total sense. Check it out.
In addition to “teaming up" with Team Meat to include Super Meat Boy visuals in the game, Noodlecake has also landed one of Danny Baranowsky’s excellent music tracks, “Forest Funk", to really complete the experience. Also, Noodlecake hints that there will be much more in this update, including a new course that is “going to change the way you think about a SSG course entirely." Interesting! The big update is set for release on January 9th, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing more details about what else it will include as we lead up to that date.
