Per our sister site, MacRumors, production of a 12.9" Retina Display is currently underway for release early next year. Sketchy rumors have circulated in the past about bigger iPads being a possibility, but this is the first we’ve heard of any kind of production run starting. What’s neat about this, if there’s any truth to it, is that the resolution of this display is going to need to reach near-4K resolutions to still meet the pixel density that qualifies as “Retina." That’s going to be one hell of a screen.
Now, whether you believe this or other rumors we’ve seen about the 9.7" iPad getting a higher resolution screen… Or both- 2014 is going to be a really exciting year.
