Following a weird free, then not free release is the Kickstarter-funded Fist of Awesome (Free). It’s the quintessential side scrolling arcade beat ’em up homage, filled with plenty of humor that’d make any EnviroBear fan grin. We take it for a spin in this video, encompassing the first level which is basically the tutorial, and then the second bear-filled stage:

Definitely check out Fist of Awesome if you have any love for beat ’em ups, it’s shockingly well done, and as Jared mentions in the video, might be the best game of its genre we’ve seen in a long time. The game is also available on the PC and OUYA, if you’d rather play it on another platform, but the touch controls work A-OK if you want to play it on the go.
