While Popcap’s Facebook post about Plants vs Zombies 2’s impending release is generating about 2,750 likes per second (LPS), it just so happens there’s a whole bunch of other games coming out that are also worth checking out. We’ve already posted about some of them today, but here’s the full roundup of the games we’re stoked to see hit the App Store:
BattleFriends in Tanks
First Look: Turn-Based Strategy Game ‘BattleFriends in Tanks’ Hits Tonight
The core of the game revolves around two phases: movement and attack. At the start of a turn, users are allowed to move around the game’s spherical map until their tank’s fuel is cashed. From here, they have the option to fire an arcing, sluggish shot at the user-controlled opposing enemy tank. Once a shot’s fired, their turn is over.

Ninjas Stolen Scrolls
First Look: ‘Ninjas – Stolen Scrolls’ is a Really Neat Beat ’em Up with Some Iffy Controls
There are few things I like more than a good old button-mashing beat ’em up, and tonight a very interesting looking one is heading to the US App Store. It’s called Ninjas – Stolen Scrolls, and in addition to beating on a ridiculous number of bad guys it also features a very cool XP and character leveling system, a magic system, and tons of loot to collect. It’s also a very visually attractive game. The one thing I’m struggling to get behind are the controls, but with a bit of practice I’m starting to warm up to them.

Pirate Legends TD
First Look: You Need To See Tonight’s Release ‘Pirate Legends TD’
Split across a ton of chapters, Pirate Legends TD tasks you with protecting a docked pirate ship with a handful of towers, including the standard gun and cannon towers and some interesting twists like a “voodoo" type that ignores enemy armor. Your ship isn’t just something to be protected, though — it’s also a valid weapon choice, as it can launch dazzling barrages and generally fire upon creeps that come its way. There’s also a variety of special abilities that absolutely wrecks bad guys. In the first level, for example, you can summon a kraken that swallows an entire wave whole. There’s also a whirlwind power that lets you push enemies back.

Plants vs. Zombies 2
All in all, PvZ2 is an incredible sequel. Unless you’re exceptionally impatient or just not very good at these kind of games, it’ll be totally free for you to play. If you’ve found yourself burnt by freemium games in the past, I highly recommend giving this one a spin as it might change your opinion on the pay model. I have no doubts EA is going to make a killing on this game, as there are a lot of impatient people out there who aren’t very good at video games if the iTunes charts are any indication, but, I feel confident in saying that for anyone reading TouchArcade- This is likely going to be a completely free (and completely awesome) game for you.

Skate Madness
First Look: A Skateboard-themed Runner Could Be Awesome, but ‘Skate Madness’ Drops the Ball
Gamechanger World has taken the initiative and are releasing Skate Madness in international stores as we speak, a 3rd-person runner with a skateboarding theme. Unfortunately, they don’t take the opportunity to do anything very cool with the whole skating thing, and even after just a few minutes with Skate Madness it feels like nothing more than another uninspired clone.

Way To Go!
First Look: ‘Way To Go!’, A Tile-Based Puzzle Game From ‘Sunny Hillride’ Creators, Hits Later Tonight
The studio behind Sunny Hillride, Headup Games, has a new title coming tonight: Way To Go! In a nutshell, it’s a 2D, tile-based puzzle game that tasks you with maneuvering or re-directing a variety of avatars through hundreds of surprisingly devilish puzzles. It plays a little bit like Cuboid, if you’re familiar with that, except this game has you laying down tiles to indicate where your avatar goes.
