Earlier this morning, Jared and I spent some more time with Funky Smugglers, the next game from 11 Bit Studios. In case you missed our look, it’s a pretty straight-forward reflex title that tasks you, as an airport security dude, with removing dangerous or idiotic items from people as they pass through an x-ray device. The more stuff you can nab, the higher your score. A generous combo and modifier system flesh out the scoring component while clever planting and character design makes getting giant scores harder to earn than you’d figure.
Funky Smugglers is one of many games that are going to hit tonight. It’s Universal and will carry a price tag of 99¢. Make sure to check out our hands-on if you’re sitting on the fence. It’ll probably win you over.
