Last year, Tribute Games released Wizorb on desktop computers systems and the Xbox Live Indie Games channel to critical acclaim. In case you haven’t heard of it, Wizorb is a brick-breaking game similar to the classic Arkanoid but with heaps of RPG elements thrown in, and a lovely pixel art world encompassing it. As you know, we’re big fans of adding RPG elements to pretty much any type of game, and indeed it made for a great combination in Wizorb.
On Friday, Tribute Games co-founder and programmer JF Major taunted his Twitter followers with what looked like an iPhone screen of Wizorb, due to its 960 x 640 resolution and the appearance of virtual buttons in the corner. Following this, Tribute tweeted and confirmed that Wizorb was in fact heading to iOS. Here’s a look at that first screen.
Not much more is known at this time other that Wizorb will be Universal, have Game Center integration, and is coming “soon-ish." But it seems like an absolutely perfect fit for iOS, and I’m excited to see it head to the platform. We’ll of course keep tabs on this new iOS version and bring you any new information as it happens. You can also download Wizorb from the Mac App Store [$2.99] and I’ll leave you with a trailer from the Steam version of the game that launched earlier this year so you can see what the game is like in action.
