Mr. Papi Returns in ‘PapiJump Land’

Sunflat was kind enough to give us a heads up on their newly released PapiJump Land [App Store]. Yup… Mr. Papi is back!

Mr. Papi is the star of Sunflat’s Papi franchise which kicked off with the lovable and addicting PapiJump [App Store]. The game is described beautifully by Sunflat:

  • Mr.Papi came to the Hamburger Land to eat ultimate hamburgers!
  • This is an exciting jump action game.
  • Tilt the device to move Mr.Papi (red ball guy) so that he eat all the hamburgers in the level.

Yep, that’s all there is. Tilt to bounce Mr. Papi to collect all the hamburgers. Sunflat provides 30 levels of progressive difficulty which is a bargain at the sale price of $0.99. The gameplay is simple but challenging. It requires a steady hand but could grow frustrating to those who don’t like these tilt-type games.

Gameplay video shows the later levels:

nice. way to expensive for what i see as technology demo. how much replay value can this have when even in the 2 games the developer shows, each is lasting less than 30 seconds and his score is exactly the same (12) in each one?

  2. Anduril_ukr

it is definitely not just a technology demo, it just as much a tech demo as zen bound (if youve played it). the jawdropping graphics and realism just add to the overall experience. It is quite difficult at times, but the games spreads the hard ones out so that you can take a break after a real difficult one. It is never extreme frustrating, but always a joy to play. There are 100 levels, and each level has a par number of moves, so in that sense there is massive replayibility. its definitely a great game.

I love the fact that they film the trailer outside instead of in a dark... basement? Wish they'd release a lite version.

    wtf 5$....for that..

from the gameplay if that was free i also coldnt play it
    look slowww and not fun...
how want to drag a frog legs

    (: but try it ppl...

  5. dave

I have zen bound, and what i like about it, and the look of the frog game is the organic marriage between the visuals and controls.

It may look simple. It is not. It may look repetitive. It is not.
I have played it and it gets harder and harder every time. The level design is really well done and yes the graphics look nice too. Also quite a relaxing atmosphere but don't let that fool you. More depth and gameplay and puzzles here than meets the eye.
I love it. Got Sway, Zen Bound AND this. Good games coming out this week!!

This is a great puzzle game. It looks stunning, and the movement of the frog really does seem real. It's easy to imagine you really are stretching the legs when you move them. A few of the puzzles are easy but most require some good thinking! I'll be honest and admit that I sometimes struggle to even finish levels... let alone finish them in the minimum number of moves. The overall quality of the images and gameplay is amazing. And with the dev promising some minor changes to how you use the menu it will be nearly perfect.

next time you try to Promote your game write a shorter Respons ...

a real Customer will ask for a drop price first...

a real customer won't Complain about price and generous information provided.

    this def looks intriguing.

@jack - I'm not the dev. I don't know the dev either. I paid AUS$5.99 for this puzzle game and think it is worth every cent.

If you frequented the forums here you would be familar with my user name. And the type of games I am interested in. And the "longer" "wordy" replies I post!

I love the game and I tried to provide information about why I love the game in my reply. I tried to be more informative than "I love this game" or "LOL, Great game".

    @ jack

How can you say that? this is a great game and Snow_Mani is indeed a trust worthy buyer and not the developer or a cheap ass like you (sorry for the ass thing). Its a great game and deserves as much recognition in my opinion as Zen Bound. Does nobody get frustrated that after 30 min of moving an object you are only 89% done, and no more rope left????

Surprising market we have with apple customers....oh well!

I don't get it why people here are so obsessed with satisfying their own unrealistic needs. To the maker of this game: do not bear weight on the things being said in this site. If you have a vision, make it happen and do what you think is best. People here are just a little percentage of the audience anyway, and they nitpick on every little thing. The posters here don't decide the success of the games.

I think the iTunes store has spoiled many. The majority of apps are severely underpriced and yet, we have people asking and complaining about prices. Truly a sad state of affairs...

  14. Max

I have it. Man! this game looks and plays outstanding but why there is no menu with options? like change frog skin color sound volume etc. maybe in next update? anyway is 5 star app. :o)

  15. Kita

I would rather be playing lower prices versus overpaying for low quality apps like when the app store just launched. I'm loving how all the apps are low priced because this means competition which leads to lower priced and higher quality apps.

    @ Jack

    are you the developer
trying to make controversy to make a sale?

  17. AncientMoose

No, I'm the developer. I'm really not interested in controversy - this is a gentle, cerebral game featuring relaxing ambient sounds and pretty little frogs in lush environments. It's not a style that lends itself to stirring up heated debate.
My strategy for making a sale is simply to make as good a game as I can, and trust that the people who like it will go out and tell other people about it.

  18. Chris Calkins

Ooo burn by the dev!!! Great game i love it, unique just like Zen Bound :)

  19. Madison

    @Snow:
I AM a real customer. Would you like to see my receipt? I am not even in the same country as the developer so next time before you complain about me not being a real customer because I should complain about the price: think.
    Come on now.

I don't mind paying 4 euros (which is nothing) for so many challenging levels and such beautiful graphics.

  20. Madison

    (oops: that was for Jack)

  21. TKO

Another testimonial from a real customer here! Bought the game ..wasn't entirely sure of the price, but it looked so damn pretty and intriguing. And it's a really great game. Relaxing, challenging, pretty beyond words (one of the top 5 prettiest apps I have maybe?) ..I can't recommend it enough.

I'll even say it's *better* than Zen Bound. There. Take that. ;)

It has great replay value too. There is a par for every level. If you beat the level, but don't reach par, you'll be coming back to it. (Trust me, once you see the level-select flowers, you'll want them all in perfect bloom.) :D

@AncientMoose thanks for a brilliant game that's also a *total* work of art. Look forward to seeing anything else you might come up with.

It saddens me to read this... Looking at the game the developer has made a quality App. The price is fair...

Been a developer myself, I\'ve spent about 8 months creating a product of the highest standard. I intend to release at a mid range price, and in real terms that's cheap when you compare development costs.

To make quality costs money... What I say to people that moan about the cost of games on the App store is get real... compare the prices of games on the DS. Because mark my words if no developer makes money on something that deserves to make money, then they will stop making games on the IPhone; then the quality games will dry up, and then all that will be left to buy is shitty games of poor quality - which seems to be what most games are on the App Store.

  23. fastlanestranger

Glad to see everyone speaking up in support of the dev. Like andy said, $5...even $10 is such a break for someone like myself who's been paying $30 to $35 for DS games forever. Even GBA games were $25 to $30 for the good ones. To say that a real gamer would ask for a price drop first is the weirdest thing I think I've ever read. Not to assume anything about you, jack, but I'd imagine the same mindset would say that a real gamer steals/pirates their games.

Big ups to you, AncientMoose, for putting together a unique game. For staying away from the tried and true formula. Thanks for giving gamers like me something that we love to play. Keep fighting the good fight.

  24. joetheblow

Just bought this too, was intruiged by the concept.
Great stuff, i love relaxing puzzlers like this, real time eater, beautiful graphics.

  25. Gus

    Awesome new gen puzzle game.

My DS has sat collecting dust since I got my touch, and I'm an old guy that plays them on business travel and has had every GB since the beginning. Someone said before, the ridiculously low app prices spoil people. This one is absolutely worth the cost, and between it an Zen Bound, I am happily and peacefully puzzled. AncientMoose, nice piece of work.
