French developer Florent Tournade, who contributed to Alone in the Dark and WALL•E for modern consoles, just wrote in to alert us of a combat flight simulator that he will be bringing to the App Store later this month or early next year. Kerosen 3D presents the user with a planet editor through which various terrain details can be set, after which an entire fractal planet is generated.
The player can rotate the planet and zoom down to ground level on any given point (Google Earth style) and choose that as a starting point for the combat flight simulation. The game features a 3D engine capable of rendering around 1 million polygons per second. Multiplayer via WiFi is available and may be updated to internet multiplayer in a future update.
Have a look at a demo video posted by the developer.
There aren’t a lot of details beyond this available right now. Stay tuned for more information on Kerosen 3D as it becomes available and a closer look once it hits the App Store.
