Description

Korean Chess Puzzle consists of 50 unique stages which are designed by Kim Ji Hwan - Professional Korean Chess 9 Dan. The objective of this game is to move the green-colored pieces to capture the red-colored king. This must be achieved within a given number of moves.


The rules of the game are quite similar to the western version of chess with some exceptions. More details can be found in the Help section on the main screen.


HOW TO MOVE

To move each piece, simply tap the piece you want to move. You can see the possible move positions drawn on the game board by the green-colored dots. Choose where you want to move your piece by tapping one of these dots.


Piece Descriptions

The King can move one grid unit in any direction. However, his movement is limited to within the castle area. The red-colored king can draw the game by calling “check”. This occurs when the red-colored king is aligned on the same grid column facing the green-colored king. There can be no other pieces in between them. The green-colored king cannot “check”.


The Rook can move any number of grid units either horizontally or vertically.


The Cannon can move any number of grid units either horizontally or vertically by jumping over any single piece. However, it cannot jump over other cannon pieces.


The Horse can move one grid unit horizontally and one grid unit diagonally. It can also move one grid unit vertically and one grid unit diagonally. If any piece is positioned on the moving path, the Horse cannot move along that path.


The Elephant can move one grid unit horizontally and two grid units diagonally. It can also move one grid unit vertically and two grid units diagonally. If any piece is positioned on the moving path, the elephant cannot move along that path.


The Knight can move one grid unit within the castle area.


The Pawn can move either one grid unit horizontally or vertically, but it cannot move backwards.
