So I've just been spending the last hour or so migrating all of my media over to Zune in anticipation of my new WP7 phone arriving later this week (I'll still have my iPad for TouchArcading ) and I must say, Zune is a MUCH better program than iTunes, I am aware that as I am on a PC iTunes is designed by Apple to be a total memory hog on my computer, however, all of the menu systems, interfaces and features are just monumentally better than iTunes (it also runs a lot faster but that's probably irrelevant). I know this is largely an Apple forum, but I want to know, do you prefer Zune or iTunes? P.S. If this turns into a flamewar I will ask to have the thread closed, keep it friendly EDIT: THIS POLL IS PURELY IN REFERENCE TO THE SOFTWARE LISTED, NOT DEVICES SUPPORTED NOR THE COMPANIES THAT PRODUCE THEM.
I prefer iTunes, mainly because there is no Zune software for Mac and I don't have a Zune either I have used the Zune software (when I had a Zune) though, but through a virtual machine. It was a very nice piece of software, it was very laggy though, most likely due to it being run in a virtual machine
Thank you both 1000 times for your wonderful and constructive contributions to the conversation! Jog on.
Not a fan of either, but I use iTunes 'cause of my Touch. If I didn't have one, I'd probably use Foobar2000.
Well you know, I have only used iTunes for a good 4-5 years now, and have never touched a Windows Phone before yesterday, and I downloaded Zune to sync my songs to the phone and I was blown away by how vastly superior it was to iTunes. I still use my iDevices more than my Phone but I am still allowed to prefer Zune as the computer software.
No love for amazonmp3? Stuff's amazing and MUCH cheaper - Kanye's new album was 4 bucks on amazon, 15ish on iTunes. And 95ish% of songs are 99 cents, not to mention great prices on albums. Oh, and it automatically exports your songs to iTunes.
I think we're referring more to the aesthetics and interface than the prices of music. Amazon MP3 isn't an interface for music, but merely an outlet. I can't really choose between the two because I've only ever used iTunes. Always used an iDevice since my Creative Zen MP3, which I had to use Media Player for years ago. iTunes was definitely a jump from that.
I recently got a new phone with Zune built in. I absolutely love it. I couldn't ask for more. It's amazing how useful it is.
