I'm in the process of deciding the exact hardware/OS cutoff point right now. I'm optimistic that we can support 2nd gen devices, at least for singleplayer. Multiplayer is a no-go, it's simply way too slow/laggy. My only real concern is that loading times at the beginning of a level on 2nd gens are awfully high. I'm working on bringing them down to a reasonable level right now, there are a few optimizations in that area which have yet to be made.
The last track of music has been tweaked! It's bawesome, if I do say so myself. And I do. 'Cause it is.
You could always let it be playable, but include something in the description about 2nd gens. Also, I wouldn't aim for a October 27 release date. You won't get game of the week. No offense, but MC 3 is coming out then.
That would require a time machine... or for Apple to approve the game in 24 hours. I'm not sure which of those is less plausible. I'm triple checking the last of my tweaks and fixes this afternoon, it'll be off to Apple for review in mere hours.
Great!! But again, I wouldn't suggest releasing it next week. Too many other games are coming out. Wait for the next week.
Maybe they should move their releases? In all seriousness, I wouldn't be too worried for us. Apple has done a great job of giving our games the visibility they need in the past, so I'm pretty confident we won't get lost in the noise regardless of which day we release. v1.0 has officially been submitted. I think its also safe to finally report that we're planning on debuting the app at $0.99. Hope you guys will check it out, and have some fun blasting zombies.
So this will work on 2nd gens, just not the multiplayer though right? (Which is cool as I don't play games online on my iPod) Also this would come out next Thursday (Wednesday night) the 27th right?
Lol Yeah, I'm sure you guys sill do great. I wish you the best of luck, I'll definitely be picking it up.
Wow! I can't wait to pick up this game once Apple approves it. I would've definitely paid more for it. Thanks and good luck!
If it's a .99$ app, firstly that's a steal, Zombieville USA was the first app I bought when I got my first iTouch oh so many years ago and started to get into the whole iOS gaming thing, and I have put a stupid amount of time into that game... Not sure why I play it so much... I just really like killing zombies. Anyways, at .99$ even with a torrent of other games, you can usually do great just by virtue of being cheap. It's also got the power of being the sequel to a massively successful game so people will recognize it. Regardless, I'll be getting it as soon as it releases!
That's right. I was just testing it out today to be sure. I mean, it's pretty painful playing it at retina resolution and 60 frames per second on my 4S, and then going to the iTouch 2nd gen... it's playable, but for the true Zombieville experience you really want at least an armv7 device.
So does it lag pretty bad on older devices? (Yes I'm getting a 4s in the next month or so, but for now this is what I got)
