Great work. Maybe you could work on zombies a little bit more (their face looks weird. like low resolution or something) but still.. For a one man job thats amazing. i wish i had newer device.
2nd gen iPod Touch does not support OpenGL ES 2.0, so no it will not run. If you can run Epic Citadel you will be able to play this. No hands on the weapons... maybe in a future update. I wanted to get this out before Halloween so some things didn't make it in the first version.
even the trailer looks cool, but I saw the way you control the game, it's way too complicated (may be I'm not a huge fan of first person shooter game like this )
I did a comparison of Resident Evil 4, Epic Citadel and Zombies The Last Stand to see how much detail was in the walls when you're standing as close as you can get. RE is has horrible detail because the textures aren't tiled and are several times larger than the player. Epic Citadel looks good from a distance but breaks down up close because it lacks detail textures. The parallax mapping also doesn't seem to affect the normal map lookup. Zombies TLS looks great up close thanks to detail textures and more obvious parallax mapping. (warning large image)
I can put much higher res textures in for the zombies but honestly you don't notice it when they are chasing you and it's in motion. It was done to save memory.
I've already mentioned that it will run on the iPad, but only with shadows turned off, until they are supported by the OS. Retina display or native ipad resolution is not supported because the game relies heavily on shaders and the GPU isn't fast enough to handle the higher resolution. I've tried but it's too slow.
