Why would Zombie Invasion be showing up as a new app now?
I noticed that too and thought it was pretty weird.
When the game first came out I couldn't search for it. I only got it because of the link the devs posted in the forum.
Maybe it's just the app store being stupid
The same reason BiiPlane is there... it's not regulated! There are several "NEW" games but I agree, many of them are old! The app store needs an overhaul in my opinion!
When you update a game (or send a new version to Apple and call it an "update") you have an opportunity to update the release date and get back on the device's category listings. This is being massively abused at the moment...
No, this is something different. An update, even with the date trick, still shows up as an update. This is showing up as a brand new app. I'm guessing they pulled it off and re-released. Zombie guy, can you shed light on the mystery?
Edit: Ok, it's showing a release date of November 1 in the store, with no updates, and it has all of its review history. Arn, is appshopper confused?
I thought the first go round would have been enough. Zombie invasion is terrible with a capital T
ya, I noticed too. And looked back. it wasn't found before today. I'm not sure what the deal was.
The feed pulls based on actually browsing the App Store. Does anyone remember actually finding the game in the category listings?
Maybe it's just the same trick as with Critter Crunch: Pull out the app and re-release it, so that the previous buyers have to buy it again to get updates. I guess we will see this bad trick more often in the future.
no, then it would appear twice in appshopper, but it doesn't.
From the developer
The Zombie Invasion Update is in review with Apple. It should be out in a few days.
Hey guys, I'm a little confused by this also, I never did see Zombie Invasion on appshopper before today. We submitted a standard update to Apple... A free update, it's not a new app don't worry. I would guess something weird just happened on Apple's end.
