Civilians Escorting Zombies I think that I wouldn't have a problem with the "You're doin' more harm than good" casualty thing if I didn't see civilians running beside hoards of zombies so often. I mean, fine, they're getting mauled, whatever. But when there are dozens of zombies running right beside (and I mean RIGHT BESIDE) one or more civilians, each one not caring about the other, then I think there's a problem. Because if I have civilians escorting the zombies into the base, well what am I supposed to do with that? This is not them fighting it out in an epic battle of zombie hand waving and civilian dying. This is just flat out them running alongside each other, together forever, holding hands, singing as they skip toward the bunker. If the zombies always attacked the civilians when they got near, this wouldn't happen. But it always seems to be that once you get up into the larger masses of zombies, quite often the zombie hoards ignore the civilians altogether and make a mad dash for the bunker. And zombies aren't smart. So why aren't they mauling that guy running beside them holding their hand, skipping, singing tra la la la la? On the other hand, if making it so zombies always attack civilians at a certain range won't work, I think the bunker really ought to close down to civilians and then have a second stage where the zombies are trying to bust the door down and we're blasting them off to keep them away from the door. I'd love to be able to call in sniper support on certain zombies. I'd love to have new levels where you're defending a structure in the center of the map from threats on all sides, like a boarded up restaurant or hotel or office building. A level where you're protecting a moving convoy that's travelling down the highway. A level where you're protecting a shipping dock that has a ship full of civilians that are trying to disembark. A level where your military base is being overrun by zombies on all sides and you've got to protect the base in addition to the base's own defenses and vehicles, inviting mass zombie hoards the likes of which have yet to be seen. Perhaps having UAV's you can call in to protect a certain spot (selectable) that once a zombie shows up there, it blasts the crap out of it and then returns to base for rearming. But I desperately crave for zombies not to be escorted into the bunker by civilians (zombies should attack civilians no matter how many zombies there are imo) and I crave some way to shoot a single, precise shot. Even if that is aiming and then saying I'm calling in a sniper shot to take out a zombie I've spotted for or using a prototype rail gun.
Wow. I just checked the list of changes for the update, and that's very, very disappointing. Bear in mind, I've been playing quite a bit, and to be honest, was expecting so much more. I really like the game though, but as has been said, it's really quite annoying having zombies and civilians walking side by side, especially later down the track when they all start moving a bit faster. I mean, the only reason zombies are drawn to the bunker anyway is because of all of that human blood, right? You'd think they'd be all over a human running along right next to them. At this point, I don't think we can expect much in the way of significant updates for this game. I'd love to be wrong, but when an update with a minimal list of features takes so long to land, it's usually a pretty safe bet the developer has already moved on and is already working on their next title.
I was expecting a little more as well with all the hype, but am glad this title is receiving developer attention. Instead of complaining, I'll simply say thank you and good job guys, looking forward to more updates!
I wonder if another TAer has noticed the similarity between Zombie Gunship and an iPhone game called "AC-130 Spectre"? http://itunes.apple.com/app/ac-130/id422223831?mt=8 It's got the same look and feel, and the atmospherics are almost identical, save for the zombies.
Thank you. Vaporizing the undead was apparently my lost avocation. Waiting rooms have never been more attractive. Could we have some white phosphorus parachute flares? The civilians could see where they are going while the flare is lit for 15-30 seconds, and escape the zombies briefly, and run to the bunker a little more efficiently. Also, the zombies would be afraid of the light, and tend to cluster around the edges of the light for better target groupings. Question. What are those big hard-to-kill things, and how many points or kills are they each worth?
^ i'm sure those guys are only worth 1 but I'm not 100% on that. I really wanted stat counting on the update (kills, saves, etc) which should be easier to do than adding gameplay elements so i was a tad disappointed..
I have AC130 Spectre and was wondering if Zombie Gunship is better. Spectre has a mission structure and a variety of targets - soldier, bunkers, AA guns, trucks, tanks... Is Zombie Gunship better?
HELL YEAH. AC130 was boring and too linear, although it was a pretty well done imitation of the famous CoD4 level. Zombie Gunship simply takes that popular concept and fuses it with zombies and an addictive upgrade system. It's also very authentic and realistic compared to AC130. Although there's only one endless mode, the number of zombies and amount of action should keep you occupied for a long time to come.
Hey guys, so I won a Promo Code for Zombie Gunship on the internets... Rather than simply post it here for lurkers to pick up I made a simple test that only logged-in members can see. As such, if you figure it out - please post that you got it, but don't spam the thread if you didn't. The code is 12 characters long, and here are clues for each one: 1. uP PeriscoPe, the Pioneer Pirate said 2. Seven ate _ _ _ _ 3. Alphabet 13th. 4. How many characters does my GameCenter name (found in my signature) have? 5. Five is Six. 6. See 1. 7. W 180° 8. The first letter of the Horde "slogan" from World of Warcraft. 9. Camellia sinensis - also known as Chinese _ _ _ (say it out loud to find the letter) 10. The fourth prime number 11. Notch's game - letter 8. 12. 9th letter of this game's title. (space doesn't count) Man, that was harder than I thought. I don't think I made it too hard though...
There are several: 1. uP PeriscoPe, the Pioneer Pirate said ??? 4. Your game center name isn't in your profile 5. Five is Six. ??? 7. W 180° ???
The first is tricky: but as a clue, I normally use correct punctuation, syntax and case when I write. 4 - the clue doesn't mention my profile at all Five - should be pretty straightforward. Think about it! 7 - What do you do when you do a 180° turn?
I'm pretty sure I got it since it says code expired. Unless I was wrong and the code is similar to a previously used one.
