No it does not take forever, in fact the best meals are the ones that take the shortest amount of time, if you do them over and over you level up the quickest (check my spreadsheet I linked to earlier). Also you should realize that they somehow have to make money, that's where the In-App purchases come into play.

I'd just purchased a vending machine and had placed it. I had it selected to change the direction it was facing when my iphone rang. I returned to the app to discover both the 8 toxins and vending machine had disappeared.

Has this happened to anyone else? Pretty peeved...

In regards to star ratings, I find that if I leave the game open for an hour or so, and don't let my zombies get tired, I will end up with a 5 start rating. If I leave the game overnight it always goes down to zero stars.

    Lol.
"24 hours" is not forever in terms of iPhone gaming? Best meals are the ones that take the shortest time? Right, so how many dishes do you have to cook if you gain like 5 XP at once cooking those "fast" dishes, ever thought of that? I'm guessing at level 10+ each level will take at least 2000 XP, since these "fast dishes" you're talking about give you 3-5 XP per dish, that would require at least 500 dishes, and at average a person would cook around 20 dishes per day assuming they don't get tired of staring at the screen, so that's around a month for one level at level 10. Oh and you have to check back the game like every hour to "serve" the dishes or else they'd burn and you lose the money you spent on making the dish, very time consuming. Yup I'm sure one month per level is your idea of "level up the quickest". And since there's basically no way to get any toxins (please don't tell me go do raids, there's a total of four cafes you can attack at any level, every one re-opens in like 48 hours, so that's basically a maximum of 2 cafes you can attack everyday, and each raid has like a 1/4 chance of netting you ONE toxin, do the calculations), there's no way to level up fast, hire more zombies, or cook better dishes. Yes the IAPs are unreasonable, $50 for 500 toxins that might be spent in a week? I don't think even PC MMORPGs have IAPs that cost $50 that will only last a week, let alone iDevice casual games. Hell who would even spend $50 for infinite toxins for a game with no multiplayer for a phone when that's the same cost as a PS3 game?
You sound like you're working for Capcom or something, stop defending the game like it's hurting your sales unless you can counter with real arguments.

need toxin or won't go far

I ran into this tread by accident and I can't help but want to leave my 2 cents. You won't go far without toxin with this game, the only time you going to get toxin from a raid is the 2 toxin when you raided a restaurant at the beginning level, forgot exactly which one, I think they program that to make you think you could get lucky every time you raid so you are hooked keep playing. the only way to go far with the game is getting toxin, by buying, which is ridiculously expensive, or, by hacking into the preference file in the game, which I did, and got max possible 9999999 toxins. I am level 20, the max level, and to be honest, from level 12 I had to hack into the 'level up' XP points to advance to the next level cause at 120 XP a dish even with every dish speed up by using toxins, it will take months to get to 10,000 plus XP points it requires to advance. if you are not comfortable at hacking, and agree that it's a rob to pay real money for toxin, play another game, you will be very frustrated with this one real soon. what I am doing now with the game is to go back and forth the levels by hacking the preference file to unlock all the dishes. By the way, the final levels features French restaurants with fancy dishes.

I so agree with you, the guy did sound like he works for capcom doesn't he? Lol. Btw, no hope for sure for more restaurants to raid with higher levels, unless they do an update, there are only 4, changes type of restaurant when level up, I am surprised to see you said 1/4 chance to get toxins from raids though.. I've gone from level 1 to 20 twice and raided every time I leveled up and only got toxins from other restaurants twice! This game should not be labeled as free, I can imagine in the hands of a child the parents will get a shock when the see their credit card bills! Borderline scam. I am weirdly obsessed with unlocking all dishes. It's a shame, had the protential of a good game.

    Zombie cafe Max Level

There is a way to use the time bug in the app to achieve max level faster. See my level 20 here. [IMG]

Pick a dish, cook it, better use the owner, then press home button to get to Settings-General-Date & Time-Set Automatically-off- adjust the time the dish needed then press the home button twice to cafe app. You will see the dish is ready to serve (or if you are quick enough, maybe several seconds away) and the dishes on the serving table has gone and your money + tips are in your pocket. Remember to get the right time back to repeat this hack.

If you are using this way to hack more money and XP. you will be in Max level in no time (technically it will take more than one day to get there, but this is the fastest way I can find).

There is a limitation to do this. I don't know why but there is a 24 hours limit. if you use this way during checking the location map. more than 24 hours then the app will quit automatically. But now you know if the reopening time is no more than 24 hours. you can always adjust the time to attack your neighborhood. But you cannot repeat this progress so I figure the reopening timer is another algorithm.

About the 24 hours limit. there is another trick. There are some dishes take more than 1 day. Can you cook it with this hack way? Yes, you can. The trick is, for example, the Fetidccine(3200 Level 7 190XP), I use it a lot because it is the highest XP earner. Here is what to do. So set the clock back to 3 days ago. (today is 7th Feb then set the clock as 4th Feb, just the date, leave the time alone) then cafe app, then use the owner to cook a Fetidccine, then date sets to 7th feb, then cafe app. See? the course is ready. There is a reason why you should set the clock first. If you cook first, then set the clock back to 3 days ago, make sure get into the app and make sure the owner is cooking the course, because if you miss this step, the course might get burned most likely.

This hack will spoil your fun with this app so it is totally up to you whether you want to use it.

In the fist several days I cooked more than 10,000 dishes and wait for serve them all (800 dishes per hours the fastest I can go). but later Capcom update the app says the app will sell the dish while you are not playing. this just speeds up the sale and now every time you use your clock to cook. The app sell the dishes on the serving table itself.

This can also repeat to gain energy for your zombies. even dead one. I use one day to reborn the dead one and another day to full energize them.

Way to spoil the game for yourself... why would you want the game to go by quickly and have everything by cheating it... This ruins the whole game. I'd rather wait and earn everything by myself than to spoil it with cheating. Sure it takes longer, but right now I'm at Lvl. 9 and still have fun with the game. What is the fun if you have everything and nothing to do?

Hi "Capcom's employee of the week", how are you? Well, I guess everyone enjoys a game differently, for me, getting into the programming code and being able to change it to somewhat whatever I want, is more enjoyable then twiddling thumbs and watching dishes sold at $3 a pop. I mean, the game already plays itself the way it came, it's not a game that you really need to think, what else to be done? Have to tell you, for me, if I didn't know how to hack it, I would have deleted this sad thing at level 5, guess I have no patience for B.S. Capcom is playing fishing expedition for toxin real cash, and making things look like there would be more restaurants to raid, 'more fun ahead' if you keep at it, well, I just rather find it all out myself on my own time line. It's after all running on MY iPod, and there are countless better games out there than this so I won't waste too much time on one like this. Oh and by the way, there is no cheat, I call it making a somewhat-boring-slow-going game fun.

First of all Im not in any way affiliated with Capcom. Sure you can do whatever you want, but as I see it you are a cheater. I bet you do the same on competitive games, just to ruin the fun of others. But tell me, what is the fun if you can buy everything and you are at the highest level. Even if I would reach that Level through playing the game it would be over right there. But archiving this while editing the plist file is nothing special... But I'd still like to know what is fun now that you cheated your way through the game?!

rocky, no I don't edit every plist file on every game I play, I actually don't play much games at all, all I am saying is, this particular game had its appeal, kept my curiosity for a bit, I wanted to know what's more in it, but playing it the way it's design, for me, it's like watching paint dry, so I fixed it my way for me to play it the way I can enjoy it, now I can call it done and move on, curiosity satisfied cause I got to the bottom of the game, it was fun after I hacked it, but not fun enough that I want it to last forever (boring..). I am happy for you that you are not bored by it and it's all great, and it seems that there are plenty of people like you dont mind it's slow-ness, but there are more people like me just cant stand the boredom and want to get to the bottom of it already. I mean, what do you do with zombie cafe? tap cook and try raid and fix up the little space, over and over again, but that's it, mostly you watch the little people in it walking around, the game plays itself! I'll have to say, a good game keeps me playing the way it was design, and I enjoy every bit of it, and when it's over I wait for more levels to be published, for example 'cover orange', I would never thought of hacking it, I enjoyed every puzzle solved in that game.

There's no need to get all serious and start calling people cheater. And I am sure if you find zombie cafe so much fun and are into it enough to create a spreadsheet for all the dishes, there's nothing anyone can say or do to ruin the fun for you.

    Chill out and Happy Gaming!

So, just in case anyone's still interested in discussing the game...

The level progression does slow down significantly as you level up. To go from level 9 to 10 seems to take about 4 days, but you can speed that up with multiple cooks. This may require fewer attacks to conserve energy but should be doable since you've got 6 zombies at that point. You can speed it up even further if you're willing to pay more attention and cook many short dishes - the 4 day version doesn't require much monitoring.

I've got 13 toxins saved up without buying any, that's enough to get one pretty nice zombie. Not sure yet what I want to blow it on.

    This game is just broken...

I too was completely addicted to this game "at first" but after taking forever to save up 15grand and purchasing a vending machine, all my faith in this game was destroyed. When you purchase any money generating items Ex: slot machine, juke box, vending machine etc.. they have a max amt of money they will produce before you must collect or they just sit there. Also if you have the game up and running working on food and letting your zombies rest or whatever, these machines will NOT make money for you. The game must be closed for them to collect money. Then you get to the amt. The flipping 15k I spent on the vending machine gets me $250 a day. Ummm what!? The damn thing will never pay for itself. At this point I was so pissed I decided to use the changing the date deal to make 3day items and moving back up 3 days so they would be done and just farm money. (WARNING! Doing this does turn your cafe green on the map and no one can visit you, to me it's a way of fighting cheaters.) However; since I only had 1 friend playing the game it didn't matter to me.

So I haved up like 500k in money, I bought the Juke box which is something like 60k. Yah ummmm you get $1300 a day for it if you are lucky. Then I paid the $100,000 for the slot machine. It gets you a whopping $1800. The amt of money these things pay you back is inexcusible. Then for them not to work if you have the app open ? WTF! Plus, my zombies if resting do not gain life if the app is closed, it can be 2 days whatever.. they gain 0 life unless the app is open. But if the app is open my machines don't make money?!

Then you bring me to zombies, you can't ever get the best zombies unless you purchase toxin. I made it to lvl 18 and I amassed a whopping 14 Toxin in the entire time I've played Z.Cafe. There are zombies that require 30 toxin!? Hell there are probably ones that require more than that.

Then there is that crap star rating system that means nothing. One minute you are full stars the next you have none!? How all the zombies are resting and the chef is going at it full stream with serving. Hell the stars mean nothing, leave the app open 20 minutes and POOF back to 5 stars. There's really no benefit other than a slight increase in how quickly you make money. However it doesn't matter how many tables you put in.. you'll never meet full capacity of people coming in.

Capcom got Mega greedy with this one and how toxin works and the requirements for certain items for toxin. I'm sorry, I'll buy a PS3 game before I waste a penny or even 50bucks for toxin on this craptastic, broke ass game.

    Nuff said.

    Hi dboeren,

From my experience with the game, do NOT get any cops, let it be traffic cops, regular cops, or even a Sargent, they are worthless in raids, slow and lazy on serving. both boxer and sumo are good, does not get tired easily, although I felt they day dream a lot while serving, but really strong in raids, super models and movie stars are surprisingly fast and hard working, so are CEOs, excutives, CIOs and football players, clown Stoogey works fast, class clowns and punks are better versions of teenager I think, they move fast too.

As he wrote earlier, he cheated himself 'unlimited' toxins. But I have to disagree with the Cops, they are for what they are worth (1 toxin) pretty fast and moderately strong in raids. The fastest guy I saw is the 'Local Hero'. You can watch them walk and see their speed, when they are turned into Zombies they move slightly slower though.

I just updated the spreadsheet with my newest receipts: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ArKT_WXxa_M4dDlwLWNzVXdyS0VLdmc0T0E3ektxNEE&hl=en&authkey=CLnCo8oB
