Dear adventurers, We have been paying very close attention to your posts and would like to thank you for the valuable feedback you have provided since day one. Your reports have been crucial in the detection of pressing issues, such as the disappearance of items/characters in the first episode, issues with side quests and crash reports - The team is working diligently on fixing the reported bugs asap and optimizing several features, based on community feedback, like the save system and inventory sorting. You may also have noticed we have disabled the Options menu - this is only temporary! We have decided this was the safest way to prevent any further save-related item losses, giving us time to work on a more permanent fix and keeping additional players from having to reset their progress in order to continue playing. We apologize for the quiet couple of days and thank you for the wishes regarding the situation our office in Paris has had to cope with recently. We will continue to forward your feedback to the team and will bring you further news asap.
I agree H4nd0fq0d. I think the developers really hurt themselves here. I'm willing to give the developers some time, but what concerns me is that we haven't heard anything from them in the past three days or so. You simply don't disappear within one week after a major release, especially when you're up against a PR disaster. I understand that the offices were within blocks of the attacks in Paris, but someone from their team is responding on their official forums (where they haven't received the increasingly vocal criticism). I don't expect the (game breaking) bugs to be resolved overnight, but I would like to see some plans for the immediate future. How will the remaining classes and the rest of the game be released? What are the immediate plans for the game (in terms of changes, bug fixes, resetting online accounts, etc.)? One of the reasons I'm very concerned is because this is a premium game. I'm not convinced that there is a financial incentive for them to complete the remaining 80% of the game. [Edit - To their credit, while I was writing this comment Kobojo issued a statement]
Yea no, doesnt work like that. A dev doesnt make a huge profit off of a premium game after just a few days of sales then skip town. Takes some time id imagine to even turn a profit. That would be like you making ten bucks worth of a product, selling 1 bucks worth then skipping town, down 9 bucks.
These are also my most pressing questions. You can't just release a game with "more content coming" and expect people to be happy with that. It's bad enough that it was released that way but it would be nice to have some assurances for those who did buy the game as to what to expect in the future.
Guys I'm out I just requested a refund if the game is fixed I will repurchase till then I'm out. The game is not complete and frankly the reply does not even address the content and the classes missing. Best of luck to the rest. Lesson learned never buying a game based on hype again
I'm going to give the devs one more time to respond to the content and missing classes issue. If they don't respond in a timely manner and have some reassurances, then I'll be out too.
Personally I think that the lack of voice acting gives it a sort of silent movie film noir charm, and using the word 'stupid' is too strong and unwarranted -- especially when you're not privy to the game's design decisions: that sense of entitlement's annoying.I like it, the subtitles suffice. You can commend Chaos Rings 3 for example, for having voice acting, but it's in japanese and you have to read the subtitles anyway so what's the big deal? Not defending the other issues of this game, but the lack of VA might have been an artistic decision -- not to mention I'd rather have no voice acting and save a TON of space on my device (Chaos Rings 3 clocks in at over 1.3GB I believe, *pre-install*). If they'd given voice acting, next thing people would complain about would be the enormous install size. There are complaints, then there are complaints, and I don't think this is valid. This is a good game, but the issues prevent it from being a great one and these same issues are the reason I don't think it should be a $8 game. My brief review here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3727800&postcount=301 Devs, this can be a gem .just come through and give it the spit-polish it (and my $8 deserves). My condolences on the current situation in Paris, keep your heads up!
Purchased it, played for a while, game felt empty and hearing that it isn't even finished made me decide to get it refunded. Will put the money down if they ever finish it, but I don't want to be the one with money already sunk hoping they get around to adding the content that was promised in the initial release, not as some future IAP crap.
When I try to get a refund it says I need to go the app website for support. Won't even give me the option to get a refund.
I clicked on report problem on the receipt you get from the App Store and then just asked for a refund. Then someone from Apple replied confirming refund. I felt bad going down this option but paying over 10 dollars for a beta version of the game isn't right. I will repurchase once the dev finishes the game. I rather of waited longer and be blown away then just access to three classes and a I'm sorryy no ending yet. I don't mind bugs but content missing was my last straw
Got the refund. Sorry Kobojo, I really wanted to like this game and it appealed to me early on but the more I played the more I realized this was an incomplete mess. If you continue to develop this game with feedback and updates you'll have a truly great RPG but as it is it's not a good representation of what the talent here is capable of.
