I'm also anxiously waiting for the drop.

Check the first post, the link to a tweet is there. Even tho it's from a random person, that same Twitter account also mentioned Death Rally's price drop. The drop wasn't instantly, so I'd probably say wait until later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Yes, I'm sure you don't need the iAP to beat the game..unless you're just plain terrible at games, I don't know why you'd even consider buying any iAP. You can purchase iAP, which give you a superior in-game currency to purchase special items, like in many games. These are called Zen points and are different from the standard game currency, which is gold. However, first of all, you start off with a fair amount of free Zen points, 5000. Second, you can earn additional Zen points by completing achievements, which take no additional effort than just playing through the game, if you really need Zen points for whatever reason. Third, everything in the Zen points store can be attained be playing the game, save a few items. It's just for lazy people or for people who are particularly bad at games. There's nothing in there that you'd even need besides some stat/skill points reset scrolls, which you'll have enough to purchase if you don't waste your Zen points on useless stuff. Lastly, you find a damn examine scroll in the first 5 minutes of the game, and throughout the game, you'll be able to find a good amount more..if you really need some, I'm pretty sure you'll have enough Zen points to purchase some. But like I said, all I ever bought from the store was a damn skill points reset scroll..and yes, I beat the game with one of the characters. Seriously, if anyone takes iTunes reviews seriously, that's just disturbing. iTunes is probably the biggest waste disposal I've found on the internet to date. I'm pretty sure the guys complaining haven't even put in 10 minutes into the game.

If you're not going to purchase the game just because it includes iAP..then you're really missing out. This game is a flawless KRPG that ascends far above anything in the genre. There's so much polish in everything..the menus, the skill animations, the environment, the multiplayer, the execution room, the sound..hell you don't even need to grind in this game because they added the execution room, which allows you to power level very quickly. I even found the story to be interesting for once. You can choose from four different characters as well, each playing significantly different from the others. There's so much content here. I'm not even overstating it when I say that this is the perfect KRPG for the iOS. Flawless, polished, and just plain awesome. For a dollar, it's nothing but a steal. Hell, I'd say it's even a better deal than getting Chaos Rings for $3.99.

Dunno, but this review seems to think IAP is a problem.

I will probably get it anyway.

Bought it, but just wondering, the free 5k zen points, are they used cross-character? And are they a one-time only thing? Or if I delete and re-install the game (for whatever reason) and/or end up deleting all the characters to re-start, would I receive them again?

I thought that site become extinct quite a while ago. Haven't seen a mention about it here in many months.

@Azu: Good questions lol..never bothered testing out any of that. Only have one character. Since you already have it, you might as well test it for yourself xP.

Those IAP's are just item packs that you can buy if you want. They're just armor, gear, revives, and that sort of stuff that makes the game easier for the lazier gamers. No items that you use to identify gear or any of that nonsense you've been hearing.

Okay, I admit. You can buy examine scrolls. But I think you can get them with in-game money with one of the merchants?

    99c ill bite it.

the IAP for something as basic as identifying item is ridiculous, and this game does change my perception of Gamevil, ill put them in the same category as NGmoco now, that is I expect to pay cheap price or free, and then pay IAP later.

Ill try to finish the game and see how bad the IAP situation is.

Agreed - there should be enough of them to go around. It would be like buying Identify Scrolls in Diablo :p

I'm about to start with the game but based on what i've been hearing, it's what Diablo 2 used to be back around 2000-2003. Play the hell out of the game and buy things off of ebay which you need to enhance your experience.

Sure you can get ALL items in-game but the chances of them dropping (the super-rare ones) are extremely low.

That really isn't true..even rare drops are pretty common. Super rare? This isn't a MMORPG. They don't really exist. Everything can be found pretty easily. You're not even going to be worrying too much about equips until the very end of the game anyways. Considering you can buy new equips every few levels, finding rare equips is not going to be very important for most of the game. You can seriously play through the game and even own people online without buying any iAP whatsoever. Gamevil is definitely still at the top of their game..

wanted to get this game since it was on a super discount... but upon seeing so many negative comments on the game being too IAP-dependent, don't think i will be getting it anymore... :(

Lol why do I bother posting when people tend to believe the worthless things we call iTunes "reviews"..I mean, why bother posting here at all then if you're just going to go with the stuff on iTunes?

While I appreciate your opinions, I don't think that a lot of people have the same experience or perception of what happens in the game. I think pethaps you are either exceptionally patient, or exceptionally talented. For the rest IAP is either required, or don't bother purchasing.

If you went through some of the impressions in the main thread, that clearly isn't true. The overall feelings about the game by the people WHO'VE ACTUALLY PLAYED IT are overwhelmingly suggestive that there's no reason to purchase any iAPs. The only place you're finding anyone complaining that iAPs are required is on iTunes. Like I said, unless you've never played one RPG in your life, I can't see why you'd even think about buying anything more than just the game.
