Yeah, but look at the third picture, the character's design resembles this guy a bit too much don't you think? They may look differently but they're similar design-wise. Which is why I don't think they are being 'creative' in that regard. EDIT: I posted the pic for comparison. It looks like Disgaea's character appeared in the his Zenonia sequel a bit older and wears more armor this time. But hair color (and style) and his pants are the same.
I'm bored of Zenonia now. Level 25 and at Hades, just cba to play it anymore. Still, I'll probs give this a look.
blue spikey hair and the style of the characters are the same but seriously. That style and blue spikey hair are extremely common in games like these.
I don't think they look all too similar, and definitely not similar enough to bother me in the least.
I don't think so. The similarities are uncanny. And if you have played games as much as I do, you'll notice that all the other characters are similar to other games. Funny thing is that they're all taken from either Japanese or Korean games. Being a game made by Korean, I guess that's where they got all the references for the characters. Chances are they didn't have much time to get any of the characters designed within such short a deadline and managed to 'tweak' some of the other games' characters to make them their own. I did that myself on some of my television commercials
i admit there are similarities but i can get over it. laharl is a much better character though. haha wanna see a gunslinger and flonne comparison.
The artstyle reminds me of Etrian Odyssey, one of my favorite hardcore old school RPGs I really like on the DS.
I thought the character customization was incredibly deep, more so than a lot of RPGs. I mean, visually the game doesnt look like much since its supposed to be old school.
+1 for loving koreans gumja gumja hajima hubak (excuse my spelling) does one of the characters have a gun!?
only in anime and video games, if you see a girl with a gun in real life shes either crazy, white trash,or a gangster. and imo, none of those =awesome
lol @ this uninspired and generic looking shit. Zenonia teh First was neither deep or challenging- it was a goddamned chore. If any Gamevil peeps are reading this thread, check out mai amazing idea: 1) imo, pull one of the 10 million members of the Korean National World of World Warcraft Gold Farming Team and have them code you a nice semi-automated script for harvesting WoW $$$. 2) Next get a some starving artist to rip off a lot of established Japanese character design, but make sure he does it in a really generic manner. You probably don't wanna be accused of plagiarism. 3) Now take the codez and the art and put it together and market the shit out of it to the west. 4) Instant hit. btw, this chick: might be related to this chick:
