I gave in and bought the Star Wars Pinball App, I have to say, I rather dig not having to hear the awful Zen Pinball Menu music. Plus the Dark Light stuff is at least interesting... even if I don't really care about it. I've only bought the Darth Vader one so far. Pretty good, I don't care much for Zen usually, but they seem to be slowly improving how they do things.
The new update is great. Between this and the new "Making Of" book (which is brilliant in ereader format), Return of the Jedi hasn't received this much love since 1983! Hope the next wave (which will almost certainly contain 1977 Star Wars) also has a creature cantina table, with hidden Bea Arthur and Art Carney mini games.
Yep the tables are superb. I now just use the SW Pinball app, i do like Zen Pinball, a lot of good tables there but i'm no huge Marvel fan and i like 'real' tables (I know the star wars ones arent though) But great job with the SW tables, they're excellent.
i felt in love recently with Zen Pinball (or the Star Wars Table which was free a couple of months ago)and really looking forward to purchase more tables.Honestly i don't know what to do know.I'm definitely more of a Star Wars guy (the old movies only)than Marvel (but it's ok too)and i need to buy that Star fighter table but i also like sorcerers lair and i would love to keep everything in one app.Probably i just have to buy SW episode V for Zen Pinball to ged rid of my first world problem Forgive me if that question came up too often but any other good(i know, most if not all of them are"good") table you would recommend? How about Boba Fett?I'm gonna watch all the videos now and come back later
The Star Wars Star Fighters Assault table is very nice and although it's not a shoot them up it has a Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2 Rogue Leader feel to it!
Yeah,i already bought it After sucking in the whole thread and all videos i finally bought the starfighter,RotJ,Avengers,Epic Quest and Tesla. i like them all but my favorite is still SL The least liked is Tesla, quite tough for a beginner. It tends to shoot the ball back straight thru the middle a bit too often for my taste Next on my list:Hulk and Boba Fett. What about Ghost Rider?I found no opionions in the whole thread. No love for this one?
Definitely get Hulk it's a very fun table! Ghost Rider is ok not the best table. I own them all so I think they are all worth getting at some point. I agree about Tesla it's annoying always throws the ball in the middle like you said.
I also found Tesla pretty boring. Just looping around the same little areas without easily activating any of the missions (at least when I played).
i really like the theme, that was the main reason for me.I don't care too much for a buck. But i'm addicted now and an appoholic ,i want more tables
lol welcome to the zen pinball addiction! I went through that too and still am. Can't wait for the Dr Strange table!
Enh. I didn't find it one of the more compelling tables but it does have an interesting semi-unique hook of a persistent character. The equipment and levels your character gains on a run will already be in effect next time you play (meaning either less "hits" needed to take out a quest baddy or that you can take more hits but I'm not sure if it also means the baddies will then scale up accordingly to make the advantage moot). The only other table I can think of with this sort of persistent deal was Moon Knight if I remember correctly.
After the newness and the novelty of the level up wore off..I personally didn't like the table that much. I found the variety lacking and don't like the table design too much personally. The game feels so ramp focused to me.. The sword and shield ramps for some reason is so hard for me to hit, which making killing the monsters pretty hard. The leveling up in the end didn't feel like it changed the game much to me. But after playing a bunch of zen tables..I can usually tell if I'll enjoy the table or not by looking at the design. My favorite table is still the free one as the variety of targets/ramps/goals/mini games is to my taste. But for 0.99..it's cheap enough to try out Epic Quest. But don't let my negative impression affect your decision..there's a lot if people who like this table a lot too.
I think my favorite table so far is the Avengers due to that cool "choose your character" gimmick. Basically each time you launch the ball you choose which team member you're playing as which both gives you unique modifiers and game modes just for that character. It really adds a fun strategic layer as you try to determine which character would work best given your current situation.
