Mmm I would prefer if all the content was made aviable for the main zen pinball app as its easier to have all the tables in one app, any confirmation that the stand alone app contains worthy goodies?
This is definitely in there on Android, so I assume it'd be the same - the standalone app was out on Google Play at launch and I bought it in a fit of anxiety while I was waiting for the tables to unlock in the regular game, very early in the morning. IIRC the first thing you see is the option to pick Light or Dark side before you even download any of the tables. Unfortunately I can't add anything to that as I subsequently thought better and refunded it, then bought all three tables as IAPs in the regular app when I'd got back from work.
Bought all three Star Wars tables and loved them so much I bought about 6 other tables, each one is excellent. Really great job Zen Studios!! I will probably buy most of them as I keep playing, I am really addicted
What's the best marvel table? Im looking to buy one and play it til the standalone for SW comes out. Thanks.
Of the ones I have - which are the Thor, Wolverine, World War Hulk and Avengers - I strongly suggest the Thor and Avengers tables. I've also heard very good things about the Civil War table.
Just out of curiosity, i tried all the three SW tables on my iPad 4 and i've noticed that the first one (The Empire Strikes Back), using some visuals, like the ones with the zooming upper parts of the table, suffer from loss of frame, while Clone Wars and Boba Fett don't. Have you noticed that too?
being pretty hooked on this game, im going to get most tables any to stay away from? i have avengers, empire and boba fett so far
If you want tables to avoid or buy last of all, I could do without having picked up Tesla and Paranormal. Tesla is way too small, IMO; it seems to love firing the ball straight back down the playing field really fast and feels way too hard to start scoring on. Paranormal also gives me too many awkward returns for my taste and the way a game typically flows just feels really awkward - I can't get the hang of any "Okay, first do A, then B, then C" to save my life. I much prefer the branded tables over Zen's original ones - even Excalibur feels really annoying the way it punishes firing straight back up the playing field so harshly, though I've had a lot more fun with it than the first two. My favourite would be World War Hulk by a mile, then I think Captain America, Civil War, Thor and The Avengers. Not sure where the Star Wars tables fit on my list, though I do like all three. I find Boba Fett incredibly tough, but I still really like the flow of play, opening up the missions then going for the big point shots. Full disclosure: I'm... really not that good, so YMMV on anything I say - I doubt I'll ever be able to beat a table and I'm not even close to any 9-figure scores. But I've put hours into World War Hulk alone, so hey, I really, really enjoy the game, despite being terrible at it.
Im not very good either Only just teaching myself proper game style now over bashing away lol But having fun trying! Thanks for heads up on the tables
What's this Epic Quest table? Is it an "ongoing" as you play? Similar to an RPG where you save and load where you left off?
Kindof - you gain XP and items which stick with you, but the table resets with each game. It's a neat hybrid, I'd recommend it.
You basically level up your knight to have more HP and stuff, and can earn "weapons/armor" (from killing monsters and skill shots), which carries over between games. You can cast spells and heal using potions. But it seems like as I level up, the monsters also get stronger as well, which sort of negates the leveling up to me. From what I can tell, each time I start a new game, I have to kill all the monsters all over again. It doesn't seem to save which monsters have already been killed between games, unless I'm wrong. While the leveling up and gettings items sounds neat, I'm actually not a fan of this table. Actually, I've been spending a lot of time with pinball games the 2 months or so, and the more I play Epic Quest and the 3 Star Wars tables, I'm becoming not a fan of the timed missions because I'm not able to aim exactly where I want yet. These tables I have feels like there's so many ramps that I'm required to accurately hit. Also, its not very clear to me what I have to hit to complete quests without using the table guide. I actually like the free Sorcerer's Lair much more as it seems more varied to me, and I like the minigames. But for 0.99, it doesn't hurt too much if you don't like Epic Quest. For comparison, I like Rob-O-Bot and Pinball Crystal Caliburn II much more (Sorcerer's Lair is a close one also). I like the missions of Rob-O-Bot much more, and these 2 tables feels very clear what I have to hit most of the time, without needing to refer to a table guide.
You can buy the soundtracks in iTunes. e.g: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/star-wars-episode-iv-new-hope/id196875476 https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/star-wars-episode-v-empire/id159057121 etc...

So far, all Zen Studios have been saying on their Facebook and Twitter pages is that the app has been approved by Apple, but that they don't know the reason for this delay. Looks like eveyone's hands but Apple's are tied (if you prefer to wait for the standalone app instead of buying the IAP on Zen Pinball, that is)...
