Which of the first three tables do you prefer? (only vote if you've played all three)

  1. Sorcerer's Lair

    48.0%
  2. Wolverine

    23.0%
  3. Captain America

    16.4%
  4. Don't like any of them

    12.5%

Awesome. Has nothing to do with the Fanta 4 table I mentioned. Will it come to iOS? Instabuy.

Almost even more interesting. Thanks my friend. I hope Zen Studios read this thread.

Ya. Cheating if you ask me. My experiences are telling me that in lots of first versions of video pinball games it was possible to cheat and even the devs had to learn how.

One question GL/BF: How do you sustain that mentally when you reach some special and very rare bonus mode in a pinball game? I always get splashed with adrenaline and try (a bit spasmodic)

    1. to make no cheap and unnecessary errors
    2. to understand how this mode works
    3. to stay calm and "just work"
The last point is the most difficult one and in my excitement & nervousness I have a tendency to make more errors than usual when those special modes happen. Need a mental training first for such situations. :)

In short: There is a high arcade feeling in the hyper modern ZEN pinballs! And they are not only a great divertimento but also a welcome mental and reaction training.

Maybe, but on consoles the Sorcerer's Lair scores are in the billions.

I would think so since it's one of the 3 tables they released to Android users. I think they eventually want all of their tables on all platforms.

Zen also said on their forum that the Spiderman table is coming to iOS as well:

How much I would love to watch a video of such a champ playing… First I wrote a bit about past times, now about the future (maybe, hopefully): They should invent an automatic video replay system in computer pinball games that only detects/records/uploads

    1. the periods of high scoring and key events (special modes)
    2. when the player's perfomance is very skilled (skillshots, "impossible" combinations and ball savings)
With slow motion, different/optimum camera positions/movements (crazy "ball's view" as seen in the trailer videos) and all those cinematic bells and whistles. That would be VERY motivating, wouldn't it? You could watch your best pinball races and the world's best players direct on your device. Even more arcade feeling. And it would be the best "anti-cheating detective" possible.

Spider-man table is an insta-buy for me, I don't even need to see it.

Same here. Wow! Pinball is getting even better on iDevices. Can't await new ZEN tables.

I've only played that table a few times and got over 100 million. To be honest I don't consider myself that great at pinball (e.g. I never nudge the ball) so I don't think it is that surprising someone has a score of 441 million.

I have zero interest in the spiderman table. The mode where they reverse the flipper controls is a deal-breaker for me.

Keep in mind this table had been around for a long time on the PS3. It's not like this table was just created and released recently

Hah, I usually blow it as well. The nice thing is Midnight Mode is a timed event, and if a ball drains during that time then it's sent back up. If it were just 3 balls like a regular multi-ball then I think I would have only lasted 30 seconds. It was very much a "OMG" moment, especially when the scoring thing kept popping up on the top-right telling me how many points until I beat _____ player. Have you played the AC/DC Gamprom table? There's a mode were you get 12 or 13 balls at once, and mine were gone VERY quickly.

RayZZoo, it's okay, I had fun being up top for a few days. Doubt I'll beat my score, but you can bet I'll keep trying!

I've had problems in this app with multiball killing the framerate to the point where it looks like the ball is going through the flippers, which doesn't help either.

Still loving it, though, and I actually find the landscape mode reasonably playable, which means I can play without using my thumbs (yay!).

On their forum, it sounds like they have submitted an update (fixing some table bugs). I'm hoping they were able to increase the performance a bit.

I play landscape too. I like to get up close and personal with the flippers. Makes the action feel a bit more intense.

Given the choice, I'd play in portrait mode, that generally means using my thumbs, and I've had RSI problems with my right thumb and it is better to avoid overuse when possible. That and I require a fixed camera. I'm glad there are a range of camera options.

I like a fixed camera too, but I like it close to the flippers and kind of behind them so the table view is slanted down like in real life. The portrait views don't seem to be angled down enough for me, probably because I play real pinball machines sitting down (I'm in a wheelchair from a car accident), so I'm used to that low and close-to-the-flippers view.

I'm really enjoying the Captain America. It is challenging, but I like it. I'm trying to get better at hitting the right ramp, which I find to be terribly difficult. Not sure it is possible to hit the upper skill shot target, but might be related to the view? I have yet to pass the mode where Cap has to block the "bullets" with his shield. The table guide says he can't take more than two hits, but it ends if he gets hit twice. I'm hoping that is a bug.

I cleared the mission once or twice. You have to endure like 10+ shots, then the game will end with awards.

The guide is correct. If you let two bullets past your shield then it ends. I've made it through a couple times, I think it shoots about 8 or 10 total bullets if you keep blocking them. Edit: yup, what haj said :)

Actually it says "Cap must not get hit more than twice," implying that he CAN sustain two hits and still continue, but that's not what occurs.

Ahhh I see. The way it works is two hits and it's done, so yeah it should say he can only get twice.

There are in-game guides for all the tables as well. Just pause the game, and then it's the top option. The did a better job on these than on the PS3 table guides, where were just text, and horrible.

Of course those pale in comparison to the Williams Pinball table guides, which are complete voiced, span multiple pages, and walk you through everything needed to accomplish something on the table. They are absolutely awesome.
