Any tips for Excav A93 facility? It's the one with two saws at the beginning and then a bunch of claws. Is there a certain weapon that will let me kill these things? I've been stuck for the last hour and just can't seem to figure out a combination that will let me get past them.
Z-Exemplar - ExcavA93Facility (coords 13:12) - completed It's a short but tricky level. Took me a couple of goes to get through but I found a combination that worked well was the spread fire, lazarus rockets and lazarus shield. Using the probe in a forward position helps too. Hope this helps. Suminell.
I'm downloading this now! I've been waiting for this awesome game to drop! Let's do this! I hope there will be DLC because I'll probably finish all 960 planets in an hour. Yea I'm that good. Hehehe Billy
i like the music, and i have found this: https://youtu.be/BB2JdAoVlyA same style and same sound (zx spectrum 128)!
The music is by MmcM and I agree it is awesome! Check out the OST here and listen to some of his other chiptunes - they're great also! Suminell.
Great game The game is fantastic! I love the art and music. but touch controls on the iPad are (while not HORRID) not great, even during static moving up and down it sometimes "misses" or cancels a movement and I get killed, MFi would be lovely. Wish I knew how to use the upgrades though, I purchased them in the menu but I don't seem to be able to use them
Game is awesome. Would be nice if there was an option for a static d-pad and not a floating one. Gameplay relies on really tight controls but the floating d-pad turns your spaceship into a drunken pirate's corsair.
I am only 3.4% into the game and I've been playing for hours. It's hard and easy and addicting through and through. I love it! I will say though, there seem to be some very small issues. When a level starts the floating joystick doesn't seem to recognize my touch initially. Not a problem except for certain planets have enemies barreling down at you from the break and if you don't have the right build, your doomed from the break. Also, I am finding that the difficulty rating for certain planets aren't accurate. I was on one that had a 3 bar difficulty and I spent well over 50 attempts to beat it. On the flip side, I played a few 5 bar planets and blew through it without one death. Not sure how that would be fixed. Beyond all that, this game is easily a 5 star game. The art, sound, the feel of the controls, the enemies, the multitude of weapons and defensive perks to choose from, the vastness of upgrades for each item, the level designs, and pure adrenaline you feel when you reach the end of each level waiting to see what final surprise awaits you. Amazing!!!!
After you select a level and it shows you your weapons, you have to swipe up or down to access your upgrades.
So, is the consensus that the controls on the iPad are not up to snuff? Too bad because I primarily game on my iPad.
They do have static d pad. I personally don't like it because of the lack of customizability. It stays too far down on the left side of the screen to be enjoyable for me. If I could love it and maybe adjust the size of the pad, gen maybe I would like it because at first I felt the same way about the floating pad. Def wasn't feeling it at first (loving it now).
Brilliant Been waiting for this for months. As a longtime reader since day one, I finally registered to post this. Love the aesthetic and gameplay, and all the retro feels (saw Horace, Miner Willy and Jetman within the first 2 minutes of the game and I squealed with delight!) The controls have already been spoken about at length and I echo those sentiments, and also would love to plead and beg for mfi controller support - label it Kempston maybe? I also love the scan lines, but the screen curvature less so. Would love to have those as separate options. My final request/comment would be that the app icon seems so unlike the rest of the game in terms of its zx aesthetic. Also thank you for making this a complete game without IAP!
Yeah, the static joystick wasn't what I meant. I meant a more analog d-pad, where you can tap up to go up, tap down to go down, tap up-right to go upright, and so on -- Gradius style (think a Nintendo controller). The drag mechanic seems to not work so well for the tight corridors, at least for me. With both the static joystick and the floating pad the controls operate from a drag mechanic. It could be I'm just bad at the game (probably more that than anything else) but the controls do feel a tad wonky.
Oh yeah... you're right. I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was a joy stick. It did feel wonky at first, but I found that NEVER taking your finger off the screen helps. I've died countless times from removing my thumb and placing it slightly off center of the joy stick and it slamming me into an object or enemy or enemy projectile. And that's not to say that that fixes the issue because it doesn't. It gets pretty awckward when your thumb is almost 50% across your screen in an attempt to not take your thumb off the screen lol
