Hey everybody! Thought I'd make a universal thread for Youtube Discussion. You can put any questions you have (I have a few...), favorite vidoes, or just a new video that you've uploaded onto Youtube. Enjoy!
Ok, so I know that there are a lot of pros at using Youtube on here, and I've got a problem with my videos. Youtube is compressing them and making (one of) them look like complete crap, while the other just looks kinda like crap. I have a fairly good video camera, and my videos look fairly good on my TV, but something isn't working right. Video 1- This video had all sorts of problems. After the audio freaked out, we got it uploaded where it all worked. However it looks like crap. We've tried a couple different formats, and no matter how we upload it, it continues to look like this. If you have any ideas on what to do, please help us. We're using a lot of Adobe Systems Software, like Flash, Photoshop, and Premier. Thanks ahead for the help! (Oh, and these are sections from a bigger movie that we made, but we don't want to upload the whole video until we've worked out Youtube kinks out.)
Which format are you saving/converting to/uploading as? YouTube have some (only kinda helpful) guidelines here: http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=132460&topic=16612&hl=en-GB
Well we tried it as an MP4 and it looked ok, but we've also done some of the stuff on that list. Our video was in AVI format and we scaled it to the right size and everything. Also, another time we converted our video (out of Adobe Premier) as some format (The name escapes my memory right now) that made our video about... 4 times bigger than the normal file. It ran silky smooth on our computer, but once uploaded it looked like the worst out of all of them. Our video editing teacher doesn't use Youtube much, so he wasn't really able to help. :S
I don't use Adobe Premiere, so I wouldn't be much help there. However, I do know that the best quality I get comes from exporting the video in a MPEG-2 format, using a preset in my editing program (Pinnacle Ultimate) that exports the video in 720p. I use this for videos that are mostly video-captured for doing things like machinima (The Halo theater has been very good to me). I've tried AVI, but for some reason, while it looks like HD on a computer, it looks like total crap and turns out squished in YouTube. MP4, to me, looked extremely grainy. Speaking of which, does anyone know of a good video-capture device that captures using component cables? Stuck with composite at the moment; looking to upgrade soon.
Save it higher quality, also save it as AVI because MP4 gets compressed thats why most videos on youtube are crap quality. Try it in WMM to see if it's any better, change the format to AVI and save it. You need a good format like WMA or AVI there the best for youtube..
Hey everyone! I finally figured put how to make our videos higher quality! Woohoo! So if you're bored, check em put! I think they're slightly entertaining.
Here's an awesome youtube video. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel And the last one we made. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Yes! And really want to see the full thing! Apparently there's a sequel which will make the first look like 'ponies in fairyland'
Haha yeah, it was totally the coolest phone we could get where I lived.. For like 2 weeks. Does your phone sometimes not connect to calls for about... 4 seconds when you answer a call? P.S. Anyone have constructive criticism for us? We're slowly improving on our video quality.
And the last one we made. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel [/QUOTE] Oh my gosh! my brothers somehow found that video like forever ago! we watch it some times and laugh out butts off! I didnt know that a Touch Arcadian made it! lol
Actually I am! haha that pretty awesome! Did your brothers sub us a while back? I remember talking to a couple guys from Utah that said their brother made videos...
