The AnandTech article isn't that damning. He explains that the 256MB RAM will rarely be an issue. The screen may not be as nice as the iPhone 4, but it's a heck of a lot better than the older iPods. I'm glad the cameras, mic, gyro, and screen didn't cause the price to go up. To me, these iPod Touches, along with the plethora of unbelievably cheap apps, are a miracle.
Well then, let's discredit everything else he says because the gyro didn't get a mention. I'll be very curious to see what his battery life results turn out to be. Hope they're vastly improved.
Don't think it's damning at all. really, just thought it was interesting. Still, it does a good job of showing what the new Touch really is capable of, as opposed to what Apple wants you to think.
I don't really understand the gyro. Is it like an advance accelerometer? And how would it affect gaming and non-gaming apps?

For some reason, that is funny. I couldn't think fast enough when I was ordering mine, and it took me by surprise, so I left it blank.
Has anyone found the 4G Touch at like Walmart or Best Buy or anywhere like that yet? I checked today to see and still nothing, just empty shelves presumably to make room.
That sucks! I ordered my 64 gig from apple yesterday and Im slated to get it the 14th-20th standard shipping >.> Probably the later date as it hasn't shipped yet.
Just received my Apple confirmation e-mail for my 4G that I ordered today! WOO-HOO!! The estimated delivery date is set for September 20-22, so I guess that means it ships out next week(?). I live in Canada. In case any of you missed it, here's my engraving:
For what it's worth... when I was at costco today, the guy in charge of the electronics area said that he was supposed to have them tomorrow. We'll see. He did sound awfully confident though.
