What is your favourite iOS review site? Other than TouchArcade of course because we all know that TA is the best iOS review/news site (with an awesome forum!). So, I want to know the TouchArcadians opinion of what other iOS review/news site is the best! Post your opinion of who you picked and why! AND I MIGHT EVENTUALLY MAKE A POLL ON WHICH IOS SITE IS THE BEST IF THIS THREAD GETS POPULAR!!!
That's just a tad one eyed, isn't it? I enjoy pocketgamer.co.uk for other stories it does, aside from previews and reviews. Things like 10 best games of the week. Slide to play give a review on almost every game I can think of. I could think of others, but they seem to really stand out.
I <3 STP forums! It allows me to express my constructive criticism for iOS games I love and hate.. ... That one guest was Me checking out the forums in case it had improved since the last time I checked it....
Not sure whether this was directed at me, but if it was I never once mentioned forums. I'm talking about the website itself, just like the OP asked.
it was directed at STP in general. Nothing to do with your comment. If I wanted to react to that, I'd have simply posted that Uggles review link!
Appspy for me. Love the gameplay video reviews. I actually check these forums, their reviews, and then touch arcade's review last if im still not sold.
In terms of forum activity, TA has it hands down obviously. But for reviews I go to STP (although I think they give out 4s too often) and sometimes AppSpy for video reviews. However, my game spending has gone way way down recently.
Hey, 4s are good! It's in a websites interest to review the games worth playing, who would waste their time focusing on bad or average games when they could be helping the viewer find stuff they enjoy? No one wants to read reviews on games they'll never ever buy.
That may be true to some extend but I'am hoping the reviewer isn't biased before playing the game and then posting a review because of it. I'd be more respectful of them if they do give a lower number and disregarding the hype and give a number rating honestly. Waste of time or not.
Well no, obviously that would be bad. Trying to figure out how to not break any rules here... If I were a writer for TouchArcade and played 10 games in a week before deciding which game to review, I'd choose the one most people are likely to enjoy... probably a 4 or 5 star game. The only real occasion I'd write a review on a bad game would be if that game had a lot of hype and was likely to be bought anyway, then I think it'd be worth warning the public to make their decision carefully.
Pocket Gamer and Touchgen. Pocket Gamer is good for the latest news and rumours. Touchgen does some very detailed hands-on articles and reviews (they don't write many articles, but it's quality over quantity.)
There are other good sites ofcourse, But I really do not need to visit them anymore. The simple reason for that is that apart from reviews, there is a forum thread about that particular game right here. And almost always, the link to the thread is given in the review itself. As a consumer, I really can't ask for much else!
I find STP much more accessible than TA- the site layout is much easier to navigate, and is eye catching. It also seems to do more reviews than TA does, and the reviews seem to be of about the same caliber The reason I prefer TA is the forums, obviously. Both are nice sites though
Ah, I can't see how people can find STP's reviews nearly as good as TA's (or any other quality site's). They, simply put, suck. 'Least in my opinion.
STP is really slow for me. It takes about 10x the amount of time to load than most other websites (using Google Chrome). And I don't think the reviews are that good either.
