I've lost vast quantities of my life to Dark Meadow Pants vs. Zombies and Cut the Rope so I guess that makes those my favorite games lol
My favs: Pocket Frogs, Tiny Tower: i play them every day, and really love it Orba: classic, basic gameplay, but great visuals and audio, theres always 10 minutes to pick it up. Dungeon Hunter series: good old hack and slash Fruit Ninja: thats just cool
Agreed. If I had to pick just 1 game to give the title of "Best iOS game ever" to, it would probably be Dead Space, with Galaxy on Fire 2 at a close second.
I'm really excited by the fact that Pokerstars have released an iPhone app even though it is only available in the Italian app store at the moment. PokerStars is by far the best online poker room so this news has got me really excited. I've tried these www.iPhonePoker.net apps but they look pretty basic compared to the screenshots of the PokerStars app on the iTunes website Full Tilt did release an iPhone app but it was a web app rather than a native app.
So far mine would be: Dungeon Raid: Most addictive game ever. Aralon: Best iOS RPG, even if it is a bit of a hot buggy mess. Back Stab: Best of the Gameloft ripoffs, simple but a lot of fun. Dark Meadow: Hasn't gotten the attention it deserves. Way better than Infinity Blade. Angry Birds: Made me really think of the iPhone as a game device. I put down my PSP and haven't gone back. Waiting to try Bard's Tale...
Although it wouldn't be on my favorite iOS game list, it was a fun game, reminding me of the old SW arcade games. Sadly, I deleted it and it's been pulled from the Appstore (have no idea why). I also can't sync to my PC so I'll never be able to get it back. It would be incredibly tough for me to come up with a comprehensive list, but here's a few of my favs (I'm sure I'm missing plenty): Miss Claire Garden Battleheart Sonic 4 jAggy Race Monsters Ate My Condo Aurum Blade Robo 5 Bean's Quest Inc. League of Evil Sonic Racing Bug Heroes: Quest Raccoon Rising Galaxy on Fire 2 Alphadia (although I'm currently playing Symphony of Eternity so that may replace this) Chaos Rings Tilt to Live Collision Effect Pac Man CE Space Invaders: Infinity Gene Pizza Boy Edge Legendary Wars Swords & Poker Infinity Field Forget Me Not ...the list could probably go on and on and on...
My favorite IOS game is.........QWAK! This absolute gem of a platformer has not gotten any attention when it came out. Sadly, I think it wasn't reviewed on Toucharcade. It's such a shame, as it is fun, colorful, frantic, easy to get into but hard to master and simply cannot be put down. So please, please, please check it out. You will not regret it. QWAK is a port of the Amiga game and was a big hit when the Amiga still ruled the computer games world. My other favorites: Geo Defense Tilt to live GTA Chinatown Wars Warblade (fantastic shoot'em up, also an Amiga port) Pix 'n Rush NBA Jam
Ahh, yes, I should have put Pix 'n Rush on my list as well. There's a few TDs that I enjoy. Kind of hard to put a handle on which one I like best. But thanks for pointing out QWAK! Looks like something I might enjoy.
Yeah I've got Qwak too!!! Appspy reviewed it of you want a gameplay video, but yeah it kicks ass! There's loads of levels in a highscore-based layout, and it gets really difficult too. Personally I think Qwak beats games like League of Evil, and was the best platformer on the Amiga for me. It would still be my favourite platformer ever if Super Meat Boy hadn't come along, and technically Super Crate Box is a platformer too, and Super Crate Box is my favourite game ever.
Yes! And i thought i was the only Qwak! fan out there as there is never anything said about this brilliant game. It took me a long while to finish it and i know i still haven't discovered a lot of secret passages. It also helped me a lot to find out that when you finish a level without killing any baddies, your eggs (ammo) are doubled. This is essential to get anywhere far in the game. I have put Super Meat Boy and Super Crate Boy on my "Apps-to-check-out" list. Thanks.
Thanks for the tip, I'll try it later. Oh and by the way Super Meat Boy is an Xbox live arcade game, and Super Crate Box is a freeware game that you can download for Mac or PC from the SCB website for free, but and iOS version of Super Crate Box is coming Jan 5th. BTW if you look at Qwak's description in the app store, it has a quote from Touch Arcade so I quests they did reveiw it. QWAK FANS UNITE!!!!
I have many, MANY favorite games. Infinity Blade II it's my favorite one, never goes out from my iPod
I think in terms of value and time spent, I'd probably have to say Geodefense/GDS. Some honorable mentions though: - Colorbind - Reign of Swords - Fieldrunners
