Is anyone else having a problem with iTunes. I keep getting this message when I try to download/update anything. Apple Support Communities thread about this problem. EDIT: Looks like it's working now.
Dunno but Itunes has given me more issues than ever before in the last few weeks I think apples cut back on the servers or something. Itunes frequently tells me I have updates and then downloads the version I already have. After this I usually have to wait a few hours before trying again it's like apple isn't bothering to update the links but still posts the updates. On top of that I'm finding the new itunes even slower and with all the same bugs as the old one. Each time I update I'm hoping they have actually fixed something and they never do. It's actually getting to the stage I'm losing interest in buying a next gen device when they eventually arrive.
I'm having another problem now, all of my previously downloaded apps, that I don't have on my HD anymore, are now showing the price button and not the download button. I better not have to purchase apps I've already purchased again What the hell is Apple doing!
Been having quite a few issues as well. I often have to download an update three times now before iTunes registers that I actually have the update. Gets pretty annoying, especially for larger games.
I've not had any real issues recently but when this one occurs I download the update once and then let Apple sort it out later and next time I'm in iTunes it doesn't register any longer that I need to update the game again.
That's what I'm talking about if you check your recycle bin and the IPA folder you discover it's downloaded the old version you already have and wasted your bandwidth.
The same thing has been happening to me as well, for the past week. I found that waiting about 2 hours after the app shows up in your update list usually works. My previously downloaded apps (not on my HD) are now showing the download button again. If Apple is going to do maintenance with iTunes, they should have a message to warn users so the users don't get screwed over. (Or close it down until the maintenance is finished)
