What are the top 5 things that you want to see happen for the iPod touch and/or iPhone, whether it be a hardware or software update. I'm personally hoping for (in the iPod touch):

    1. Even greater battery life and speaker
    2. 64 GB Model in 2009
    3. Search functions like in classic iPods!
    4. Ability to play Click-Wheel games (with virtual click-wheel)
    5. Ability to create over 9 pages of apps

    What do you guys think?

Sounds like someone should just get a classic for xmas.

PS...Lounge might have been better for this post, but that's just me.
PPS...You seriously want the ability to play click-wheel games on the iPhone?

Mainly just want a better battery, and better system for games in the next few years. In 2-3 years it should get a major overhaul IMO.

Well I used to have a nano and had spent $18 on games, so I would like to be able to transfer them over anyways. Also, the click wheel is a great invention and I would love to be able to use it on my touch or iPhone.

In the 2009 update of touch/iPhone there should be:

    -copy and paste
-64GB flash mem (it's been done in a USB, so why not. I'm betting this will happen)
-Undentable back! (mine is dented due to the earbud being smashed into it, I think I sat on it (fell) -.-)
-A scroll section on the top black part (opposite to where the home button is (backlight in the home button) I don't know why, just for kicks.
-FOLDER OPTIONS!! ie a games folder, a utility folder etc.!
-perspex coating on the chrome back of ALL iPods
-built in projector. Not really, but how freaking cool would it be??! there already exists one small enough to be put in, so why not!

Yeah, some things that would make me want to re-purchase my device :D
  7. landscape keyboard for every single fooking application

    come on

I second that! I would love the Notes program if it was a little less basic. I use it anyways though :(

    #3 and #5 above.

    Video recording.

    Bluetooth as remote-control.

Real GPS software (with pre-stored maps and voice guidance) from somebody.

WiFi N so I can turn off my old router and use N for all my systems.

An upgrade to match the speed and video-out resolution (p not i) of the 2nd-gen Touch.

Better-sounding earbuds. (I'm convinced that older Apple earbuds sounded better.)

Full-res, highly portable wearable display from someone. (Boxes and wires to a minimum, please: just a brick that snaps onto the phone--with an extension cable OPTIONAL--and a wire from there to the glasses.)

Edit to add: And a landscape keyboard in SOME apps, but not most: landscape means much smaller screen area, and that's not always going to work. (Plus I don't really like the big keyboard, since I prefer to type one-handed.)

Well broadcom just announced their new com chip which has 802.11n, fm receiving, fm broadcasting, and bluetooth

so I'd love to see that in the new model

    a2dp bluetooth audio

forward facing stereo speakers for games in landscape

    forward facing cam

better placement for the sync cable. I want to be able to play and charge at the same time.

    My simple demands

    My demands are simple:

-Fix the 148 app limit, my 225 apps are yelling at me, fighting and jostling for position. Make that 227, just got Monopoly and Ferrari.

    - Categories/folders for app organisation.
    - Copy Paste (it's the only reason I have go to and drag out my Late 2008 macbook from it's slumber. I'll probably sell it and get a mini or iMac, i don't need it if i have Copy Paste... wait, is that Apples strategy???)
    - Push notification so Palringo can properly replace SMS

Don't care about MMS/SMS forwarding, all my friends have iPhones now anyway.
Don't care about bluetooth file transfers, WiFi people, get with it. Bluetooth is dog slow.
Don't care about physical keyboard, removable battery, all that junk keep it away!

Next time the hardware changes, faster GPU a la iPod Touch 2ND gen, better camera (K750i Style, can macro focus etc, 3.2MP would be nice anything higher would be extremely nice as long as they keep it snappy, shutter lag sucks balls)

i only hope apple would address these features in future firmware updates or the next generation iphone

    1. Copy and Paste it would be useful to have it

    2. Flash to have internet support flash would lighten up the way we view the mobile internet

    3. Bluetooth the ability to sync and transfer files its there why doesnt apple just make it available

    4. MMS and push options dont really use but it would be nice to make it available

    5. Videorecording and a better camera

    I'd like:

    1) to be able to set a custom ringtone when an SMS arrives (I know this can be done with the jailbroken version).
    2) Add to dictionary. (2.2 allows you to disable it, but I like it. I just want some of my words in there too).
    3) A separate volume setting for the ringer. I use the iPod quite a bit but when I finish I forget to turn the volume back up again and subsequently miss calls as I didn't hear them.
    4) Landscape email/sms
    5) A way to create an album in the Picture app and transfer images from camera roll to it without having to copy them to a computer and back again.

I'm not fussed about cut/paste or iChat which a lot of people appear to want.

They all sound easy to implement things to me.

As a prelude, I'm a long time Windows Mobile user and have owned my iPhone for a few months now. It's a great device but I find myself falling back on my Tytn II because it falls severely short as an enterprise device. I can easily see it being my end-all be-all device if the following are addressed...here are my five most wanted:

    Features standard for any smartphone:

    1. Cut and Paste.
    2. Support for PDF's and Microsoft Office documents (view AND edit).
    3. The ability to forward SMS's.
    4. A built in File Viewer/Folder Explorer.

    Business Centric:

    5. Optional Stylus for pixel perfect control (eg: drawing a 1-pixel line in a CAD program).
