But that's only in the original timeline, it doesn't really prove what happens in the changed timeline, when he has the box.
The Year Walk appears to be a vision, like the Aboriginal Walkabout - not something where you actually engage with the real world. Spoiler Carados has a good point in that it's clear of snow when she's killed in the first ending. The game doesn't say she's going to see him that night, just that he wants an answer. The murder could have been at any time. What interests me is that Daniel saw himself killing her but did nothing about it. He could have moved away, or indeed killed himself, or killed Lukas... any of a number of things. Why would he have stayed around for this to happen?
Just finished the entire experience, now i'm understanding what means the Simogo's statement about thinking after the second ending... ...still thinking but the message at the end looks very clear... i can't say if what i've experienced is more fascinating or sick, anyway, best bizarre short experience on iOS...when Donnie Darko meets the Swedish Blair Witch Project!! Worth every cent!
We can speculate till the cows come home. (And I'm having a blast doing it!) One thing's for sure though....we'll never get a peep out of Simogo. Which is a great thing.
Which is a damn shame, because I'm one of those guys that has to know, absolutely. At least in this case.
Okay this is crazy! Beat the game in like 40 min. anoth 30 min for the note, and.... 2 hours on this thread! Here's what I got so far, we don't have: 1. The meaning for the numbers on the companion notes: 3-10. 30-33. 11-9 or something like that. 2. The cipher for the Rune Stone, we have E=D? on the notes. 3. I think nobody saw this but after opening the box Spoiler there are some words on the second note, hold it up to a mirror and it spells vedtorp i think. Great game and even a greater adventure. Need rest now EDIT: Read the thread again and I have to add some more stuff: 4. Some random "lurker" saying something about the song in the game, since there's only one song (joy) it's worth to have a look. 5. The famous:" We believe that very few will find every little secret. Those of you who will are in for a big treat." The link given here had "treat" in an orange frame, since nothing is random by Simogo it makes you think..
That's a wonderful interpretation. And it might be true. It's far more less depressing then the common theory. Well this is my crazy theory. Spoiler What if you are a watcher? Watching Daniel and theodor. Savoring Stina's death. Enjoying Daniel suffering. Seeing the perspective of both Daniel and theodor? That's my interpretation though. After all , who are you in the whole game?
A further head-breaky thought for you... Spoiler Daniel is Stina's cousin; the game says lots of people in that small town had the same name. When she says 'remember what happened to my cousin' she means the time when Daniel yearwalked and then immediately committed suicide. The plan worked, and that timeline never happened. Theodor fell for her, as is clear from his writing. You play him, attempting to woo her. Changing the past meant getting Daniel out of the way - it's obvious he's going mad when he unplugs the microwave. Maybe you killed her when it became clear you couldn't have her because fate had decided she'd die? just a sombre thought
This thread is all black, never seen anything like this. Maybe you all need a spoiler thread or something cause it is all black for the ones that want to buy it.
Spoiler You like subtle horror and creepy atmosphere? Yes. Just 1. Also get the Year Walk companion app, you'll need it. 2. Just because a ending seems ambigious, doens't mean it really is. Details mean everything. Also, prepare for a mind ####s. Seriously this game is weird.
Spoiler I came to this thread to try to see if I wanted to purchase it, but all I see is black bars, and feel too lazy to scroll through all the pages and the black threads are making me sleepy. But I don't want to speculate because I don't have the game yet, but if it is only a 40 minute game, I kinda doubt it if I will buy it. It seems like a lot of people are having fun in here, but with so many black bar posts, I wonder if it will hurt, or help sales. Anyway, carry on, for the few who decided to read this. .
Though unlikely. That theory is pretty cool I like it. Spoiler And I remember in almsten diary I saw a mental patient mentioned who year walked also called nilson , that's probably Stina cousin.
Spoiler The five strange creatures are the Watchers, but each of thme have a role. The Church Grim, the final 'boss' is said to be god. But he's also a goat.
Spoiler It can be 40 minutes.. if you use a walkthrough. The puzzles can be confusing sometimes, and the very game itself can be confusing because it designed to make you confused, isolated, and afraid. The puzzles can complex and confusing, while other are used to point out how messed up this world is. And not only that, the game is designed for immersion, meaing if you like the story, you will reenter the game look for secrets, and they are there. Spoiler And when I say a game is werid, I mean it's different. It's a horror story where monsters don't kill you, their motives are unknown, and what they do you instead is even worse. This game is a horror story that is subtle. And that is scary.
Also, hey guys, I decided to solve the black bar problem. With the Year Walk Plot Speculation thread. Yeah.. I made Eoghann joke a reality. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=2693223#post2693223 I think people will be glad there is no black walls now. I'll be post my plot speculation there. Anyways Connecter, I just suggest you play the game and see it for yourself. The companion half is free, so at you only pay like 4 bucks. Considering it's gamplay, graphics and the immersive story they have in it. It's worth every penny.
Written on back of note in box? Ok, I read the Spoiler 2 items in the box. On the second, handwritten note, there is ink in the other side of the page. At the bottom, on the right, it looks like there POSSIBLY may be more symbols (five, in a row). I can't make out the second one... Anyone think this theory may be on to something? Am I crazy? Weigh in, please! -janina
