EDIT: found videos in YouTube easily (search for "yakin iOS") and it looks like a challenging game, but with cool and "just one more time" feeling to it. I love the 2-3 minute video where the guy plays the first level, he's unable to move the kayak through the whole level, he quits and goes to play the tutorial... LOL'd. I think I'm TOFTT, but I won't be able to post impressions until 12-14h from now. malaheart Well-Known Member Jun 18, 2010 221 11 18 Male Angel Melbourne, Australia #5 malaheart, Apr 21, 2016 Yakin (iOS/Android) Gameplay HD MetaGonzo Well-Known Member May 7, 2009 1,459 271 83 #6 MetaGonzo, Apr 21, 2016 Brilliant. I've done a little bit of Yakin in my time and the control scheme will instantly click with a paddler..... and probably confuse everyone else. Level based? jpgold Well-Known Member Sep 21, 2012 1,818 56 48 Online Ad Sales - Pandora New York, NY #8 jpgold, Apr 21, 2016 OK so I jumped in. Always like supporting a paid game that a dev could have made free for quick cash grabs. Takes some getting used to, but a unique game that's a nice change of pace. It's level based and you can't get to the next level until you get the minimum number of points required for one star. There are a variety of things you have to paddle over to aquire said points. I'm just getting into it, but happy with the purchase. It controls well and excited to see what happens as I get deeper into the game. VirtualBoyFreak Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Apr 26, 2011 4,801 85 48 Spain #9 VirtualBoyFreak, Apr 21, 2016 Adding to what Jpgold says, there are a number of different kayaks to be unlocked, which are achieved by getting 3 stars in every level of a said run. Levels are not random, and level 1 was fairly easy to get 3 stars, but not level 2. From my little experience on level 2, there must be different ways of acquiring 3 stars in a level. It controls very well, and different to other games, which makes it a plus since it's not the standard left-right scheme. It's clear that devs have experience with this sport and they tried their best to reflect how paddles work in reality. River current can be "felt" in the player character. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase. I'll be going for 3 stars in every level for sure. It's a very challenging game. Btw, playing on my 4S with iOS 7.1.2 here, and it works perfectly. So relatively old devices are quite welcome jpgold Well-Known Member Sep 21, 2012 1,818 56 48 Online Ad Sales - Pandora New York, NY #10 jpgold, Apr 21, 2016 Are the unlockable kayaks for aesthetics or to they have upgraded capabilities? This is the screen where you can see them (touch at the right of set 5 of levels to see them). My guess is that they'll have different skill levels, but not 100% sure. Suggestion would be if you press the opposite buttons in diagonal fashion, the boat should spin around faster than when turning with one side only... Hope that makes sense, it would add to the realism. Look forward to playing more as it is though, good job! Some go quicker, some turn quicker. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
