Enemies destroyed release energy also the rocks with the glowing center that the story talks about have Xenon-X inside. I don't know what the different colored energies represent. Don't shoot energy, collect it. I think collecting the Xenon-X restores the nuke capability. Though they give you 3 shots up front... so I'm just using them sparingly. I got one regeneration on the nuke when my energy meter seemed to go above the limit. Maybe that's the trigger? Not only you... loved Xenon II. Even on my CGA 12 MHz XT with a beeper, back in 1990. Played the game thru several times back then after the tiring days at the University.
Only being able to have one shot on the screen at a time bogged down the gameplay too much and ruined it for me; it was awful when a shot would ricochet.
