People have compared this to Borderlands more than Fallout.

It has been approved by Apple and could be released by the Devs whenever they feel like it. That's my understanding. There is no release date as of yet though. I mentioned in a different Xenome thread (there are actually like 4 seperate threads for this game), that the whole hype marketing thing seems to be having the opposite effect of whatever this company is trying to accomplish. This game is currently recieving no hype at all and has largely been forgotten by most.

I still think it could be amazing, especially for an indie effort. One of the sleeper hits of the year. It has incredible potential. There just isn't any buzz for this game right now and that is unfortunate.

Someone should go to the game website and join. After you join go into the fourms and see if they will answer you.

"The build that became available in the App store in NZ was posted in error due to us having posted an incorrect date on the App store. The build that was there is outdated - it was a prerelease submitted to Apple to verify that we wouldn't run into issues with approval.

The game is ready to ship from a development perspective, we are just working through marketing detail right now to ensure our launch gives our game the best chances of success.

I don't have any dates to share at this time, but I can tell you that it is going to be out Very Soon™. "

Same vague answer for the last 3 weeks. All I gotta say is this game better not bomb when it comes out. If you're investing this much time and energy, then I hope this game doesn't fade into obsurity the same way 1000s of other apps do. Like I said, I would be much more worried about the fact that there is no pre-release hype and that people are coming forward now, before the game releases, saying that they've never heard about it before. The pre-release hype and marketing for this game has been terrible. I can see the plan here is to sink all of your hype efforts into the game post release. The game will release and then some sort of marketing campaign will be launched alongside that release. That plan is shortsighted and full of fail, in my opinion. Not enough people know about this game now. Not enough people are anticipating this game now. Pre-hype has a huge effect on a game's overall sales.

I don't think they have. That is the problem. They will not begin with the marketing campaign until after the game is actually released. The fact that they have essentially refused to market the game at all before its release is a mistake. They have generated absolutely no pre-release hype.

    Hi,

Those who say this developer has done nothing, marketing wise, you know this how?

There are lots of stuff done behind the scenes that lead up to a release, of any sort.

There could be press kits sent out to sites that are to be used when the game is released, and maybe not before.

    Nice to have opinions.

If we have learned anything about delaying a game in the iphone gaming arena, it is not a good idea....look at deliverace or mirrors edge, all this does is cause outrage and backlash from impatient gamers. I understand wanting to hold the game for promo purposes but this can backfire mre than it can help.

There has been no delay with Xenome launching, as no final date was ever set, so it will arrive precisely when we intend it to :D Worry not, we aren't just sitting on the game:

Currently, we are polishing the iPhone/iPod version, and forging ahead with the iPad version, which could potentially be ready for a simultaneous release (no promises!).

Also, the advances we make on the iPad version directly affect our second generation advances, which is another large focus for us.

Finally, production on the sequel- at least on the design/creative side has been underway as well.

Hope this clears up any confusion! Thanks!

The devs have admitted, in this thread, that the game has obtained Apple approval. It was even released for a very short time, accidentally, and then pulled by the devs themselves. The devs have said, again, in this thread, that they have delayed their own release in order to work on the marketing of their game.

Clearly, no marketing for this game has as of yet occurred. It doesn't take a genus to figure out that this game isn't CURRENTLY being hyped or advertised in any way.

Now, they could still market the game before it's release. They could say "we're releasing the game in two weeks." Then, they could start marketing it. They haven't done that yet. The devs have already stated, in this thread, that they have no information at this time regarding a release date.

If they spend a week or two marketing the game, before it is released, even though they have already admitted that the game has recieved approval, that's just going to anger people. People aren't going to want to wait for weeks, knowing already that the devs have ability to release the game at any point.

Or, they could simply release the game now and then try to market the game after it has already been released.

I think both options stink. it's a matter of opinion, granted, but I believe the devs should be hyping/marketing this game right now, as in today, and it obviously cannot be argued at this juncture that they are not.

i don't need a source to prove that there is no hype or marketing happening for this game right now. If I'm wrong and someone else believes that there is, then that person is the one who is going to have to proof it. Because I haven't seen or heard anything. Not here, not pocket gamer, not SlidetoPlay, not IGN, not anywhere.

Thank you :) i misunderstood and was not aware that you were still polishing up the game, i thought you were just sitting on it. That however is good news and i fully believe it should not be released till it is ready, however long that takes. I can assure you though, no matter the release date i will be a buyer no doubt as i am anxiously awaiting this games release. Good luck and hope to be playing soon! :D

people are being sarcy with you you dude, because you have no freakin clue of what you're talking about. you clearly know nothing of the marketing world, and are letting your own anticipation rule your ability to see sense and reason. seriously, just stop now.

    @dumaz

They submitted an earlier build, hence the lower res screenshots. Like they said, they want to actually FINISH the game before the marketing. Also, the reason why they never set a release date is so people like you don't get all antsy when it hasn't reached the release.

Obviously nothing will stop you from complaining, try getting some facts before speculating.
