I got $10 credits but when I'm trying to buy it, it say I got insufficient balance.. What's wrong appstore? :/
That's disappointing to hear. I just bought it for my iPad mini. I didn't even bother reading the reviews since everyone talks about how good this game is. Amazon has it for $10 for PC too so I should've probably bought that version instead. I'll try it later tonight on my mini and see if it crashes too.
I can't pass the tutorial mission with my iPad mini. Every time I get next to the guy with the grenade, the game crashes.
I've been reading the latest reviews of this game, and all are saying crash! especially for iPad mini. A high budget game, with only 2 star ratings... i blame iOS on this one.. not xcom devs.
So uh. Running iOS 7 on both 4S and iPad 2, both crash when I get to grenade guy. Is it the OS or is it the app not up to date on iOS?
I would blame the XCom devs. It's not like all iPad minis are different. The crashes on the mini have been happening since the app was first released.
Guys, I have been reading all these crash reports and was really relunctant to buy this app. I took the plunge in the end and installed it on my ipad 2, which still runs on ios 5.1.1 (not jailbroken). Surprisingly enough, I went through the tutorial and the first mission without a single crash. It is either because I am using an old version of ios, or because I closed all my apps and made a hard reset before playing the game. In any case, it works for me. Hope this information might be of use to some of you guys. Cheers
Okay. I've got it to work. On my iPad 2 iOS 7. I think it's just maybe the tutorial and first mission. Also. If you know strategy games then you don't need to use the tutorial and that saves you from crashing.
I got past the tutorial mission after a hard reset, but right when the second mission ended it crashed. Or is that also considered the tutorial since it was teaching me how to go on the roof and through windows? When you start a new game, hit advanced options and disable tutorial. The tutorial isn't quite necessary. Everything is self explanatory except for climbing ladders. I completely bypassed the tutorial and it crashed once on the opening movie introducing you to the home base and then it hasn't crashed since for me so yeah...try it to see if it works.
I was hemming and hawing about buying XCOM for $9.99 and the price jumped right back up to $19.99. So I guess that answered my question.
Just looked on my Ps3, this game is 7+GB it also has 2 DLC packs (separate), wonder if they're offered as IAP in the iOS version.
You should buy it anyway! This is by far the best $20 I have ever spent on a game and I can't see it ever leaving my iPad, and I had never played it before iOS. As you have an iPad 4, you owe it to yourself and your device to buy it
The game is super playable either on pc or console though, not really sure its better on ios or on other platforms. All in all this is one of my favorite games in a long long time and at this price is a steal in any platform of your choice.
