Same here! I need minimum 64gb (I have around 30gb of games/apps. All the rest is music (4gb) videos (1gb & expanding) picture (around 200mb) Think my next iPhone or iPad will be 128gb model.
Whatever you do, buy this game. I haven't even finished it, spent some decent time in it and I've easily justified the price. There is no more perfect a game in the App Store. It's been lovingly ported and I am amazed at the minor issues people have had with this game. If you even have a passing interest in TBS and even if you're terrible, like me, the easy difficulty will present a challenge but not make you want to throw your device across the room. If you're excellent at TBS games, then the super hard modes will whip your butt into shape!!
If I hadn't just bought it on Steam for 10 bucks... Even so, I would have happily paid full price for this...Apple is to blame. To blame for their sky high storage upgrade costs and inability to use external storage. On my PC, I just threw X-Com on my 2 Terrabyte partition. Bang bing boom easy peasy. Of course...that's Steam. If I ever have to move my app library (inevitable at some point)...I don't even want to think about it.
I dont blame them for not wanting to allow expandable memory (even though I would love it) because they keep control so tightly of the components that their products use etc. But yeah. There is no excusing the pathetic costs associated with the higher storage.
True, but that was a totally different storage medium (a spinning hard drive). My 32 GB iPad just wants to cry at the thought of me putting Xcom on it. I never have enough free space.
First description on the title is wrong.Second the sale haven't yet started and the thread is so hot! I can't decide should I buy it or not.I don't have enough space nor an iPad? Is it any good on iPhone 5? Or should I wait for another sale I'm sure I will have an iPad until Christmas!
I actually have a 3TB external HDD, all my apps & media are on that; synced with iTunes. But I'd rather have all my games on the device instead of manually adding games back and forth. But you're right, the price for the 128gb models is ridiculous. The HDD only cost me $130
Is this worth playing on an iPhone5 screen? And is it the full console experience or a largely toned down version?
It's crazy the price difference with HDD versus SSD, but man look at the cost of a classic versus today's storage prices. It seems like I'm doing that every other week! Next iPad, 128. I don't care that about the cost... I am tired of trying to remove photos to install apps or remove apps to import photos.. But lets be realistic. No matter the size, I'll fill it. I always do. Always, and I know I'm not the only one. For those who want to support the high quality games which come with a higher price point, it might go cheaper... But maybe it won't. It's a risk everyone takes when deciding whether to jump at this price. Personally, I'm glad I got it when I did and supported it at the price I did. I think a reasonable sale like this is good to ignite the fire under Xcom and push it back up into the top spots where it deserves to go. I mean heck, look at the itches it scratches: * Console quality * No IAP * Solid port with minimal issues * Universal * iCloud Support (not the BEST implementation, but it works very well) * Crams a disk based 15+ GB game into 3.4 GB * Plays BRILLIANTLY on an iPhone 5, brilliantly. HDD != SSD. Go look at prices of flash storage, it's a very different story. Sure, apple prices are still higher but that's the joy of the Apple tax. It's something we pay because we know we are also paying for quality, for the assurance that if something is wrong, we walk into an apple store and walk out with a replacement. Done, done and done.
Well...mine is "kind-of" external. It's an internal e-sata connected through a dock via USB 3.0 which rests near my monitor.
