Wtf are you guys talking about?!?!?! XCOM: Enemy Unknown. On ipads. Play everywhere. And an All-Touch Interface.
I will buy this. I will even pay the premium price for it. While I really enjoy the game on Xbox, this seems like a much better fit on an iPad. I can't wait for this to be released.
No IAP power-ups in the game: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/04/08/xcom-on-iphone-and-ipad-will-have-no-paid-power-ups
Any dev who says this in response to a question as to whether there will be IAP for better soldiers etc, is getting some of my money - "Oh God, please... no. I'm not sure I would be able to sleep at night. My food would taste like ashes in my mouth."
I really like what the dev's stated about the vision of bringing in the cream of the crop titles for the platform..I really hope it would be a smashing success to solidify the notion that mobile can and will be a serious gaming device..
"Will multiplayer be present in the iOS version? It's not going to be available at release, but it is definitely going to be coming." "And if the response to XCOM: Enemy Unknown on iOS is positive, would you consider porting another full PC title over to Apple's mobile platform. Civilization V, for example? I think so. It really depends on how people respond to what we're doing here. But it's very hard for me - as a gamer, as a developer - to go forward and not consider tablets and smartphones as major platforms." http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/XCOM%3A+Enemy+Unknown/news.asp?c=49982
This is going to be amazing to play on iPad, imagine if they brought civ 5 to iPad? So much time would be spent on that
There are games like Shadow Guardian and Unearthed. But their graphics is not so good as on PS3. You could write about heavy rain or twisted metal, because these games is hard to replace.
I'd love to be able to understand this slapdash mess of "English". But really, I never said the iPhone was more powerful. I said that the PS3 has slowdown, and I listed the reasons why that was happening. This version will likely be downgraded from the PC versions, lacking shadows, dynamic lighting, anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, and other tech. Besides, I don't even use an iPad anymore. Gave it to my dad so he could read comic books on Comixology. I have an iPhone 5 and a very capable gaming PC.
Will this be playable on iPhone 4? Not sure if the devs have answered this or not, but will the XCom port be playable on iPhone 4 or will it be exclusive to iPad/newer devices?
No reason to remove shadows and dynamic lighting, and if we're talking retina here then no need for AA. If they utilize the hardware to its fullest extent I don't think it will be that much different from the console and PC builds. This ain't any Far Cry 3.
