Do you actually have an iPad, or are you here just for the company?

Not 4GB worth of stuff, no. Only have 600MB-ish worth of free space left currently.

Also done more digging and apparently the PC version is 20GB. Now all they have to do is repeat their compression to shrink from 2GB to 200MB...

Yep I have an ipad and could drop a heap of my tunes, photos and big games and vids without impacting it's daily functions.

Don't know why you upped the drama. It's a crazy good game and with so much of ios storage being fluid I wondered why a 4 gig install could not be worked around. Ok you can't. You won't get it. I'm sorry for saying anything. And yes, I am here for the company

A new info from destructoid's article:
"The port has been in development since October 2011, a year before the game shipped on PC and consoles. It's being ported by 2K China with the help of Firaxis."

Joystick mentioned that they haven't ruled out the Second Wave DLC. Second Wave was awesome. It's a bunch of gameplay randomizes. Once you have played the crap out of the game Second Wave keeps it fresh. Fingers crossed

Worth it. Erase all the crap on there. Delete the Bigfoot-proving footage you captured, the once-in-lifetime photos of newborn babies, every shitty iOS game you think is amazing, it's all worth it.

I have put XCOM into the pile of wait till I get my next 32GB iPad Mini list of games that won't fit, together with Baulder's Gate, and several other adventure games like Last Express...

Besides, Big Foot would be pissed. :)

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, h... O_O

If they could squeeze this onto an iPT4, I'm not even sure I'd want to see the result...

For me this is biggest thing since first iPhone. I can't imagine better game to be ported to iOS. On iPad it has to be just briliant. Worth 25-30 bucks for sure. I can't wait till summer. I will gladly delete everything I have on my iPhone/iPad to have this fantastic game !!!

Well since it's based on the Unreal Engine... It's either gonna crash a lot or it won't be supported.

    What about iPad 2?

Or it will take 5 minutes to load and by the time it would have loaded everyone will have given up and deleted it, thinking that it doesn't work.

I think it's pretty much guaranteed they'll support the iPad 2. As you may know the iPad Mini is pretty much a smaller iPad 2, it has the same specs and the same screen resolution. Since that's still a fairly new device they'll pretty much have to support it, and if they can support that they can support an iPad 2.

Those of us who do buy premium apps must use XCOM to send a message that freemium is not the way forward for iOS gaming. We shouted loud enough when RR3 went freemium, now we must put up or shut up.

I prefer UE over unity, graphics wise.

The game on pc/360 is an Unreal Engine title so it's easier to port assets using the same engine rather than starting from scratch.

Besides, the original console game was made in Unreal 3. I doubt that any same developer would switch engines just to satisfy the dwindling iPod Touch 4 holdouts (no offense).
