The following games will be removed from the Apple iTunes store until they are upgraded to 64 bit at a later date:

Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2
XCOM: Enemy Within

But wthat about Enemy Unknown?

 

That game was removed from the app store in November 2014, as they had Enemy Within. I wouldn't expect them to resurrect it now.

 

so has anyone tried to run it on ios 11? probably its not running since they acknowledged it has to be updated, but just asking because, hope i guess

 

Doesn't let you start it. Pop up says, "This app needs to be updated to run with iOS 11"

RIP XCOM mobile you rocked while you lasted but 2K (see Biochock, Civ) doesn’t care

 

They do care, at least enough to tell us they are updating XCOM and Civ to 64-bit.

 

I guess the problem is that they told us that exact same line about Bioshock for years and didn't do anything.

 

hey Shaun, in all this time nobody asks them why?

i've wrote them some time ago complaining about Bioshock mistery, X-Com EU pulled (afaic, i would buy it if was still available), and the indifference about X-Com EW... but the answer was just a bunch of stupid apologies.

i mean, is it possible that they never gave a true and logic explanation for their f...ing wrong moves to no one???

 

Just because there isn't a story about it, doesn't mean we stopped asking. I can't keep writing the same story when they keep giving me the same reply. Which wasn't all that different from what they've told you, I'd imagine.

Well I'll be one to admit, I did not expect this. Good job on them, I completely doubted them.

This is an amazing title on mobile but I don't play it anymore because my iphones don't have enough battery to play it. I remember my iPhone 6 ON the charger was losing battery as I was playing. So at some point my phone would run out of battery playing this on the charger while getting super hot. The biggest battery drainer I've ever played in my life :0 But I think on an iPad or a high speed charger it's doable.

 

Agreed! Big thanks for 2K for saving XCOM! Now if only the venerable BioShock may be returned from iOS oblivion... I would honestly buy it all over again just to have one of my favorite 2K titles to play on my iPad and phone!

 

Yesss so happy that this was saved from oblivion! XCom was honestly one of the main reasons I was having a hard time convincing myself to update.

 

It was one of the main reasons I was having for not carrying on with iOS and jumping over to Android - iPhone 8 it is then!

 

Back in store, 64bit.

 

Awesome news. But can anyone comment on the battery consumption and what device and iOS you're on? Has it improved miraculously?
