It didn't crash even once yet on my iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina, but I rebooted both of them after installation. It usually solves most of the crashing issues for me. So I'm doing it already just in case after each new game installed. Btw, I'm running latest iOS 8.2 on both of them.
No crashes on iPhone 6 as well (ios 8). Do you know how can I enable "ammo conservation" from foundry? It is grey and cannot be enabled. When I press Begin project, nothing happens. Grey are also "heavy weapons platform", "stealth satellites" and "shaped armor".
Just wondering, do you guys tend to restart the level if you lose soldiers, or do you just take it as it comes and press on through anyway?
I got the game yesterday, and it crashed repeatedly on my mini retina, just before the first mission. Rebooting the device, as you've said, seemed to do the trick. When I was younger, I'd certainly be reloading every time. Now, I just have more fun living with my mistakes, it tends to make games a bit more real, and a bit more challenging. With that said, you should just play it however you want!
It depends how I feel. If he/she was an important soldier to me and I made a stupid move, then I restart. Otherwise If it was a normal move or the alien surprised me I just carry on. Gotta have someone on the memorial wall after all I had not yet got XCom Enemy Within so I picked it up now on the sale finally.
So does anyone think they might still bring some of the stuff they left out of the game, like the extra dlcs and maps? I personally would not even mind paying extra for an iap that gives them to me. I guess it is a size issue... but if they have extras download in the app after it is installed already, is that not possible? I don't know how it works.
Yeah, that it's why lot of my Games don't crash on my devices while reading of crash after crash on other users..After every installation,Reboot The device(gives stability)same when comes an update for a game, close The game(only if in background)and after install The update reboot The device,it seems a small thing, but solve lot of problems..
Yes that's right. It would have to come from their own servers though, so if it's a lot of data per user the bandwidth costs to them can add up to horrendous amounts.
Rebooting / unloading other apps is essential for large apps like this one. I still use MemoryInfo from time to time, but it's not as effective as it was originally due to iOS changes. (This program really extended the useful life of my 2nd gen iPod Touch!)
On my current playthru i created a female soldier as close as i could after my girlfriend and believe it or not she got one-shotted in one of the very first missions from far away (NOT from a sniper),while she was covered and another squadmate was halfway (to the enemy) in the line of sight.I was quite shocked about this lucky shot (i really took care about her as you can imagine) and i thought this was a bad omen.I was right,we had a huge beef one day later And of course,i reloaded.Would do it again.I just can't see a KIA followed by her name If all relationships would be THAT easy to fix though
Quite possibly one of the best and worst aspects of XCOM; creating all these avatars of ourselves and loved and liked ones, only to see all of us gunned down, brutalized, slashed, hacked and psionized all across the world
Didn't expect the sale to end just yet. Had the store page open last night, feel asleep and it's back to full price (I own the original version on the iPad, not paying full price again for the expansion)
Bummer, I understand. But hey it is a great game and well worth the price Thankfully I got it on the sale
Been playing for a week on my iPad Air 2 without issue. Today I've noticed periods of static noise coming from the game. I also just upgraded to iOS 8.3. I haven't been able to replicate this issue with other games/applications so I'm not sure why it started happening with xcom today. Anyone else experiencing this phenomenon?
I have these strange noises too. But I think its an Air 2 issue because I got them in other apps too.
