Ouch. Got raped by the Newfoundland Fishing Village mission. Ended up restarting the mission and did a save during the mission but beat it on my second try after changing my tactics.
Holy shinikes I'm half through a covert exalt mission.. I believe in argentina.. I went in there with 4 mechs and 2 soldiers decked out with skeleton armor.. I'm getting my ass kicked! This map has a crazy amount of soldiers.. About 20 or so.. How in the world am I suppose to win? Lol.. Two of my mechs are KO'd and it's just a matter of time before they wipe me out completely .. Wish I would have saved my game before this mission Update: all my soldiers are dead, 4 mechs to repair with hardly no meld in stock.. I hate myself
I found the Exalt not very hard but i had a totally different team on my first play thru (on X360).Just one MEC and some"enhancements"on my other mates here and there.I prefer to have a well balanced team instead of just tanks. And with 4 MEC i can't believe you had enough Meld to upgrade at least one of them with a reasonable (and necessary) amount of upgrades.
Yeah maybe 4 mechs was overkill :/.. I usually find exalt pretty easy but they just came in waves.. Most enemies I've seen on any map so far.. I could definitely repair one or two mechs so I'll be good ##
This just happened to me, but I'm on my first Ironman game do there was nothing I could do about it. Lost my best sniper and best assault, managed to get the other 4 the hell outta there. I hate that mission, but Chryssalids are the one enemy, every time I see them I hate it. I would rather deal with any other enemy unit. =oP
I don't even think the issue is the mission is actually hard because honestly I beat it with some pretty basic technology. The thing that really caught me off guard was this mission plays out so differently than the others. Love the game though, really need to reconsider my tech upgrades if I ever intend to tackle Ironman though.
Meh... This is the 4th time I've attempted an Ironman game (in the last week or so) and just had my saved file corrupted again. No idea why either. I've stopped customizing my soldiers... I deleted the game and reinstalled twice now... I've stopped dragging the game out... I just can not get through a full Ironman game without my data getting corrupted. I really want to, but it looks like I'm gonna have to go back to regular play and keeping at least two save files per game. Pretty upsetting...
syntheticvoid, there is a known ironman corrupt save bug. A couple of guys that stream the PC version (Also happens on the Xbox version) on twitch.tv (tornis & joyfulrogue) have mentioned it many times. Just play by ironman rules but don't enable ironman in options is how they deal with it. Or just make multiple saves just in case.
I actually am not sure if they're related. I mentioned earlier in this thread that my save files got corrupted just normally playing / saving. Not sure if it's the same corruption but my game will sit at the load screen forever and you can hear the ambient sounds in the background. The game will NEVER load. I let it sit there and nothing happened. Tbh, I still have this game on my device but after it corrupted, I had to go back a couple levels and I stopped playing. It kind of deflated me (lol Patriots). At least in my experience, corruption is possible during normal story play.
Is there any way to disable the bug / message "Don't this message again" ? Everytime I press the button so that I will not have to see the message again (for saving, etc), it comes again when I relaunch the game from the start.
