I ended up buying this for the $6.99 but am a bit confused... They no longer sell the original and instead only sell this game. So does that mean the original is in this game and this includes more content? Or did I just buy a repackaged original with the same content but maybe a few new areas etc... Is this the same game and storyline or completely a new game etc... I was very confused when I was searching for the original game in the iTunes Store And didn't see it offered.
Enemy within is the same as enemy unknown except it has a lot of extra additionals (plus better stability). All of the old content is there, and you get all of the new stuff too. They took it down because there isn't really a point to get the old one
Original content (besides some maps-blame the ios appsize limit) is included. However, you can't choose to play vanilla XCom.
If you're referring to iPod 5, that is not on the list of recommended devices. If you're talking about the iPhone 5 I'm sure that it runs ok but you have to remember that's the minimum requirement for the game.
Just give in and purchased this too I was mainly unsure due to the massive file size. How is this game saved? Is it something I can delete and keep my saved game?
I found two bugs so far. First, when using the headphones and you scroll the stage left and right, you hear the sound changing at the left or right headphone which is very very very irritating !!! Also, in the second stage, when you have killed all the aliens in the start (when you learn to climb up to the house), the tutorial is saying to select the crosshair from the action menu and then to choose a target. But there is no alien and you cannot select a target and the game cannot proceed.... !
Ok need some tips on playing. I feel constantly pressured to accept every single mission that pops up when I scan. Do you get a game over if you skip enough missions? Is there any way of grinding up ranks on your soliders before taking on a difficult one? I did the infestation mission where you had to escape the ship in 8 turns and I lost ALL my units from being one turn short. I would've probably waited if I could before tackling it. So basically, can I keep scanning and gring out research/genes before sending soldiers into missions? And what happens if panick levels are all maxed out in every country? Do I get a game over? Any ways of making the game less stressful?
Just got time to play the game, I finished the tutorial and had some questions I did finished "XCOM: Enemy Unknown", I knew Enemy Within is expanding pack, is that mean u need to played everything the same in Enemy Unknown again? At least the tutorial is exactly the same... What is new in Enemy Within? Look like construction, countries and other setting are almost the same.... Thanks in advance
Most of everything you mentioned is the same, but there are different environments. You can now research psionic upgrades almost immediately, there is a human faction that supports the aliens called Exalt, where you send a spy to figure stuff out, and you can turn your soldiers into MECS, which are awesome. So basically, it is the XCOM that you know and love only even better.
Honestly I've been pretty unpressed with the flamethrower. At least the kinetic module had a passive buff that is always useful (and occasionally can be used to smack a ho)
Yes, it will be game over if every country withdraws from the xcom project. Try to please or make at least 8 countries happy by launching satellite over them. If you ignore those missions, the UFOs will destroy those countries' satellites and panic level will go up and lose their support in return. That particular mission (investigating the fishing village in Canada) is really hard. I had to sacrifice 2 of my best men in order for 3 of my men to reach the extraction zone. That's xcom is all about and makes it one of the greatest strategy game so far. Anyway, you can delay the game from advancing the script. However, keep in mind that the game will become harder. Perhaps you can start fresh. Choose Africa and go from there. Africa gives you more money. Good luck.
